Lee, I have found the Embassy in Warsaw soooooooooooooooooo easy to deal with... although it does take them 5 or 6 days to respond.. but they answer the phone and talk to me... and are very, very helpful... Plus... when i was there for Joanna's tourist visa, I made a friend on the inside! :)

I can only hope that the Russian embassy is as easy to deal with. This will be my first experience with them. I didn't want to call and pay the fees associated with it if an e-mail can get the same result. Friends on the inside can never hurt. Is it someone who can speed up the process for you?

I haven't asked yet... however, he has said, anything he can do to help, just let him know.... so I think he might be able to and also help with some tourist visas for her family to come to the wedding. In my line of work, I have found that talking with people, being nice pays dividends... so the $20 fees I have paid a few times I consider a very small investment and a small price to pay for a little extra attention.. :)

Rich??? back to bed????? are you NUTS!!!!!

Lee follow the instrustion below and you can trace your package to the embassy, Dave posted this a while ago, I tracked mine all the way to Ireland. If you need any help playing around with shipping dates, let me know.

Hi everyone else. hope everyone is doing good.

Rich best wishes to your SO, i hope the interview goes great.

Maire hope your feeling better.

Quick update, I got packet 3 in the post this morning. A few things I had to query wih the embassy, They sent out of date forms, I have to fill out DS-156 156K after all. appreantly the system I not up and running yet to accept

Fiance(e) applications. they told me I only had to fill out Part 1 of DS 230, that part 2 does not apply to me, but i am going to fill it out anyway and bring it with me, just in case I got talking to some nut :). they also told me to write a letter and send it back witht he letter of readiness for an expdiate interview if I have everytihgn ready to go, so hopefully I will get an interview in August.

For those who might want to track their package from the NVC to the embassy, I found a good wiki on the whole process for IR1/CR1 which had details on how to do this. The following is how you can do this (I tested this and it works ok as long as you include the spaces in the reference as described and use a date that is a workday - so if your file was sent yesterday, you may need to put in friday's date):

" * 1. NVC sets an appointment date for you and sends out your package to the US Embassy.

If you're really #######, paranoid, or just a busybody, you can track the package status. You can use the date after your interview was assigned, as the tracking reference date, and then do a search on DHL. The format to use is "EXP 07 OCT 2008A" don't forget the spaces...and to set the date range on the tracking page. The website for tracking is. http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef The package may not go out on the next day, but the reference code will still be for that date. When your package is able to be tracked, it will make more sense. You'll see a list of packages going to different embassies. You'll know which one is yours. "

use the reference of "EXP 24 JUL 2009A" and enter a date range that includes yesterday. then just find your embassy and click on the tracking number...

Ooof.... I called the US Embassy in Greece and was transferred 5 times within 1 minute and then ended up at a voice mail of the "Immigration" line.

I stayed up till 1:30am to call them then they said that the walk in hours were 8:30am and calling hours were 1-4, so hopefully within the next 30 mins I can get a hold of someone to figure out this "Military Status A" paper.

We're thinking to just schedule the interview way into January 2010 so that it automatically extends the NOA2 and also then he'll be out of he military so he can actually be able to ATTEND the interview at leisure.

Oh, and ... Good mooooorning!

And can I just say I have AMAZING friends here at work! I was just given 150.00 to cover wedding costs by two of my friends here! They knew I was going yesterday to put the 310.00 deposit down and still had 300.00 to come up with. Come to work this morning and suddenly I only have to come up with 150.00!!! What a great way to start the day!!!!!
