i am fine.. i don't worry about these things like you think. the only time is when she makes me nervous telling me she wont get it. i hate that. last night i spent 2 hours on the phone telling her she will get the visa. to relax...

Lee she told me not to give her any ####### about the cigarettes.. i said ok..

It's best to give her a wide berth on this subject. I think it's funny, but i completely understand why she would be so nervous without you to physically be there with her. Whatever gives her comfort in those situations is best left to her.

I hope so. She has been pretty calm for the most part. AP was a little bit rough on both of us. Now it's pretty smooth sailing from here. From what I can tell about the Russian embassy it appears we are looking at a late September interview. She will have some things to take care of and should be here in the states in October. I am hoping for sooner, but if this process has taught me anything it is to be realistic and patient. I know this is a bit early, but have you and Joanna discussed her moving plans?

Lee, we have discussed the plan and like many of us the end plan cant be fully decided on until we have an interview date... all things being equal, I would like to go for her interview, help them pack the stuff she will not have pre-packed and return with them. Her Grand Parents are going to live in her flat so we don't have to worry about selling it or packing single thing (at least right now). As soon as we have an interview date (or approximate date) she will start packing the things they want to bring here that they wont need on an everyday basis. If I am not able to go for the interview.. I think she will send things via the mail/dhl here and bring the rest on the plane.

Can you ask the Embassy for an earlier interview? I know Warsaw sets the interviews a month or 2 out... but they were willing to try to give us an earlier one... IF only we had the NOA2 :)

richard i think a whole slew of approvals will be coming by mail. you will see and they will be the beginning of march and february's..

Yes, Rich... they will come... sooner or later they will come... it is just nice to see the first and even nicer to see ANY new approval out of the VSC. It is really hard for me to complain when I see someone just got approved after a year... A YEAR for God's sake.... and then there are people like Sara... So when I step back and think of others... it is a whole lot easier for me to wait.... ya know... assuming no issues.. this really is just a process and nothing to worry about... you have to have the docs and #######... but in the end, there is really absolutely nothing to worry about and i think that at least some people either forget that or don't realize it. I know for sure Joanna didn't understand that and deep down inside, I am not sure she still does... Much like your SO... they worry :)

That sounds like a good plan to me. I guess Oksana and I are pretty fortunate that she also has someone staying in her flat as well. She is going to leave all of the everyday stuff there. She has very little that she wants to bring with her. Most of her clothes are for the harsh Siberian weather and will most certainly not be necessary here.

I e-mailed the embassy earlier today so we shall see what those results are. It says they try and answer them in about three business days. I am not expecting much in the way of results, but who knows maybe we'll get lucky.

I pray that you are right. I feel so bad for the people who have to wait for some incredible lengths of time. As we have seen ourselves VSC works in waves and they are due for a big one.

Lee, I have found the Embassy in Warsaw soooooooooooooooooo easy to deal with... although it does take them 5 or 6 days to respond.. but they answer the phone and talk to me... and are very, very helpful... Plus... when i was there for Joanna's tourist visa, I made a friend on the inside! :)

Lee, Joanna is packing the 'little' things that mean a lot... gifts from her Father, keepsakes and such... Her Son's butterfly collection etc... but it will all fit in suitcases I think. The kids bikes for example will stay for them to use when they go back to visit... I am not sure what we are going to do with her car yet... But like I told Joanna... we can buy everything you need here.. so don't worry about those things.. .worry about the things you cannot replace...

Rich, still doing ok?

I can only hope that the Russian embassy is as easy to deal with. This will be my first experience with them. I didn't want to call and pay the fees associated with it if an e-mail can get the same result. Friends on the inside can never hurt. Is it someone who can speed up the process for you?
