I actually have some friends who had to interview in Orlando. At least we won't have far to go when and if we have to interview here. I knew it was quite a commitment for this whole process, but each time I talk to Oksana or look at her pictures I know the aggravation we are going through now is all worth it. Granted the time apart was not something I had truly grasped when our journey began.

I have a question for you Gents. What are some of the ways you keep your SO's mood up? I feel my SO's frustration due to not being occupied. Unfortunately she has been reading some incorrect information on the web that led her to believe that the process is faster than what we are experiencing. It is getting harder and harder to inject life into her giving the circumstances, but I am trying hard. She can't find a job and she pretty much gave up on that long time ago so that leaves her with plenty time alone with her thoughts. Don't know what to do at this point. The worst thing is that I can't do anything about this drag at this point and it makes me sad and mad at the same time. It is a torture for both of us. We use SMS a lot and I talk to her a few times a week, but I have no good news from uscis that would surely cheer her up. Please, help.

I am about to give you some terrible advice. In our case she was the one who wasn't frustrated. Oksana would just remind me of the times we were together. She is by far emotionally stronger than me. Honestly it was just a matter of constantly reassuring each other. No magic bullet or simple solution. We had good days and bad days. Just always support each other. If she read some bad information maybe steer her here or at least get her some accurate info so she realizes that you aren't the only ones suffering through this process.

Igor. I feel your pain... My SO lost her job in December and it didnt seem like a very good idea in getting another one for such a short period of time. But like yours it leaves idol hands and mind....

I talk (via Skpye) everyday... hours on end... that helps...Also, she does speak and read English so she looks here as well and sees the time lines and approvals. My biggest challenge was getting her to understand that it is just a process... and even though we get an approval, there was really very little chance of being denied... that simple thing took quite a bit... I think it just needs kindness and understanding more than anything.

la la la la la la la laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

What are you up too? You are being BAD aren't you? Be good and come dance instead!!

On a separate side note since we are talking about the adjustment of status. Has anyone actually read the I-485? I am browsing it now and they ask some off of the wall questions. I am talking if they actually catch people who are willing to answer yes and admit some of the things they. For example "do you intend to commit espionage while in the United States?" Who if they were here to commit espionage would admit it? Governmental silliness I swear.

yeah, but it is legal boilerplate... you have to rep and warrant to those things... as silly as it is

Iggy Listen, my fiance didnt believe me after a while about this process because i went through a visa specialist and he swore to me that it would take 30-45 days to get approved for the NOA2 and the whole process would take 4 months. well as you can see that didn't happen so my fiance was doubting and questioning everything... yelling at me at some points telling me that it wasnt happening. so i actually showed her VJ and gave her my passwords and talked calmly to her and showed her everything and what we were waiting for and it helped tremendously. she understood and everyday she got on vj and checked the site and when she saw that we were approved she was so happy.. they don't understand if they don't see it.. if she can get on VJ and see everything then show her and talk to her calmly about the whole process. they don't understand even though they read about it.. they think its something with them...

Oh and another thing Igor, Oksanas' mother is also in America as well. She has been here with her husband for six or seven years. So Oksana has known what to expect with the entire process. Like I said she was my rock when I started to have doubts and just get frustrated. The best thing to do is just get her as accurate and as much information as possible. It will serve two purposes, ease her mind and take up a lot of her free time with all of the reading.
