if they didnt say it was AP, i would assume "under review" just means they didnt get to it yet.

I hope you're right. This whole process is such an emotional roller coaster. I thought it was smooth sailing after USCIS. It probably still is. I am looking too much into this I think.

yea i think its pretty much impossible for any government agency to accomplish anything in a straightforward, logical and effective way.

when i was sending out my k1 packet with all the papers, the check and what nots, i forgot to put the mailing label on the package before i put it through the slot. the front desk was just closing up so everybody had to use the automated machine and place their own labels on, etc.. so then after i realized what i did im like oh #######! but i see there are people in the service desk area but the blinds are over the window. i can see the lady through the glass as the blinds arent totally covering the window and im knocking on the glass trying to get her attention. i told her what happened and that i needed help. she told me she couldnt help me and that they were closed. this went back and forth for a couple of minutes then i started to get angry. im not an angry guy by any means and this is one of the few times i let loose on someone in my life. this lady was so ridiculous she couldnt even just go back and get my envelope to help me out. so im banging for like 10 minutes and im saying things like "this is ridiculous, show some decency, etcc." finally i find a buzzer on the wall and i just let loose on it for 5 minutes straight, hah. some customers were annoyed but most understood where i was coming from and kept saying things like "i cant believe theyre doing this, etc.." so finally someone comes out and takes my mailing label and puts it on my package. for christs sake! like this process isnt emotional enough, i get some troll messing with me like that.

Jawi would you and the boys like to come up to Marietta for a Caribbean BBQ this weekend?

Hey Richard! We would love to come. Of course, my sister will have to bring us because the doctor still hasn't released me to drive yet.

Nothing this week :(

Awww IgorK...it's coming. Chin up darlin.

Silly can come also... What day would you like to BBQ? Any special requests? I was thinking Jerk Chicken, Black Beans and Rice, some sort of topical salsa... stuff like that.

Let me find out her plans for this weekend, and I will let you know. I tried to reach her before I replied...but she isn't answering. I want to say Sunday...you have a pool too right? The kids would love to swim. LOL

thanks Jawi...i think its better to get those papers ready now rather than waiting

i actually just started working ... so i will be needing my father to sponsor... how does that work? would i be filling out two I-134s?

My Mom is our co-sponsor for the affidavit too. You'll need to fill out your own I134 and then your Father to fill out a full one as well, stating his income bank accounts etc. My Mom has her own business so it might be a little different, but from what I've read and been told she only needs to give copies of last years tax transcripts and then fill out the I-134.

Hope that helps!

hey....my dad also has his own business....and im working with him this year. i dont have any tax returns rite now so i guess my dad can write a letter stating that i work for him?

I think that would be ok. He will obviously be the main financial support for the affidavit, as my Mom is for ours. She ordered from the IRS (free) a summary copy of her last years transcripts and that should be all she needs, plus to do her own affidavit paper (I-134). I hardly make enough money on my own to suggest the means to support my fiance and I so I'm just putting together everything that would say I am at least trying. Such as:

Bank statement with: Date opened

Total amount deposited past year

Present Balance

Statement from employer stating salary by year (my case per hour) and that I'm a permanent and part time employee, also states job title.

Then I got my own copies of my transcripts, 1040's, and W-2's since 2004.

These are all to support the affidavit on my part and then of course more documents are needed for the foreign fiance's interview, which is listed under guides here.

You can also download the I-134 affidavit instructions which is quite helpful and lists everything you need and is supposedly required reading for filling out the actual document.

Good luck! ;)

Good morning everyone. Alright well I feel better after remembering that Derek was in AP for right at two weeks. Maybe mine will be just as quick. Wishful thinking, but I have to get with it and be happy today. A bunch of friends coming over to watch the fights and we are going to BBQ and maybe even drink a little bit.

Lee, I agree with 'it will be what it will be" so we just have to deal with it and hopefully it will be quick.... however, can you ask them what 'review' means?

LOL Richard.

Maybe they won't be at our reunion, but if they have any questions I will gladly try and help.

So what are everyones plans for the weekend?

On one hand, I guess, I can understand, having to come back and read 10 pages of posts can be daunting. On the other hand and in my opinion this thread is for supporting each other through the process and again from my personal point of view I think we do a great job of that even if it is not exactly the way other threads do it. Take for example the March thread.... I really like the people there and they only have 72 pages of posts so it is quite easy to read. It is mostly ON topic which is fine... But it isnt the support I (personally) am looking for.

In hindsight perhaps we should have made a thread of off topic support... but TOO LATE we are here!

And yes, we are ALL very happy to try to answer questions and point people to places to get information... We have all done that and I know we all will continue to do that.

Which reminds me... Susan, I posted a few hundred messages back that my SO was able to download the form for the police report from the Embassy website and get it well in advance of the interview (which by the way the police report was waiting for her when she got home yesterday). Were you able to do the same? Maybe you even missed the post from all the 'clutter'? :)

Lee, in answer to your question on plans... I am thinking I am going to look at table-saws this weekend. I need to do some cabinet work around the house and I really can't do the work without a nice table-saw. So I am going to buy me a belated Father's Day gift. :) How about you?

Also... back on the off topic discussion... there are icons we can use that appears next to the posts and one of them is a Blue Question Mark... perhaps we should use it when we have a question and answer... so that it may make it easier for others to read the thread? Just an idea

hi richard,

I went to the police station here and the Garda (policeman) told me I couldnt apply for it until I received the letter from the embassy. he did give me a copy of the letter to look over to see what is asked etc, right on the top in BOLD letters is: applicant must submit letter from embassy with application in order to be processed. so i will just have to wait. He also told me that it will take approx 10 days for it to be returned to me, so I will just wait until i hear from the embassy. thanks alot though :)
