I just asked USCIS for my NOA 2 monday. They told me i would get it in 5 days. Well today I received this email

The status of this service request is:

The Vermont Service Center is in the process of validating your expedite request on the grounds of United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) error. To do this the center has to review the petition/application that you submitted.

A review of our records indicates that your petition /application was forwarded to an offsite storage facility. Your file has been requested and USCIS will review your application/petition and respond back to you with our determination of your expedite request.

Please allow 30 days for receipt of this final decision.

We should make a movie out of this, first time you emailed you got a response regarding a I-130 petition that you have never filed, and now this... I'm sorry but I'm laughing out loud lol

I think you should do an info pass, which is making an appointment with one of the local offices of USCIS around your area to discuss this matter. Direct feedback is better than nothing

is there a fee for that info pass thing?

There is no fee (except I had to pay for parking). However, there is a very good chance they will not be able to do anything. When I tried to do this to be sure I got a misprint in a form corrected, they just said, "we don't have access to your file, it is in another office. Go Away" (ok, they did not actually say go away, but told me there was nothing they could do to help and would not see me even though they let me make the appointment.

I would follow up in about a week before wasting your time with an InfoPass appointment.

Good morning everyone!!!!!!!!

Congrats AG. Now lets get everyone else theirs NOA2's.

Little update from yesterdays excitement. It was not nearly as sordid as I originally was told. It was not a human trafficing ring. Although there were some illegals not forced prostitution. Basically there were three girls working and a man who was their boss. It was a massage parlor that offered a "happy ending." Sorry I tried to soften that as best I could. The officer filled me in after he gave me back my dictionary.

Ooohhh ok. Well that's kind of boring. Just kidding. :) At least there was no human trafficing....

Derek, call the USCIS director because my petition was still at vermont for nearly a month and I called them to follow up. When I called the USCIS director about 3 weeks after the approval date notice, 5 days (including saturday and sunday) after that call, NVC received the case... I posted up the website with the list of numbers a couple of days ago. They were very nice about it

It's not that big of a deal. I was approved and we will still get the interview soon. The NOA2 is needed for AOS and that's why I am hoping to get it soon. Just for peace of mind. They simply forgot to send the NOA2 when it was approved. I'm sure after they look into it I will get it in the mail. I am not going to do any info pass or call them on it. I will wait until they figure it out. After 30 days I will call them if I have not received it. It shouldnt stop the process at all.

I am bored as well, but my boss keeps making me do stuff. Very frustrating. I wish the massge parlor was still open. I could get some stress relief. :diablo:

If only you had known about it last week....
