We're still waiting for our NOA2 chelartie. If its not today for me I get to choke my roommate unconscious. I would like to point out that he is one of my training partners and not just an act of barbarism.

Hi Lee, someone here promised it would be today (but not me...). So I am hoping they were right!

btw, I agree with the other folks, your fiancee is a hottie - hope you can get a quick interview! but does your posting a pic mean I have to also?

Dave

no no, you don't have to apply again THE only way you would have to apply again is if it is revoked, but that won't happen. He should be in the United States before October 6 if you are saying the interview is in September, but if the embassy needs to do some more processing, they will extend the visa time frame. Don't worry girl, once the interview is successfully completed, he will be here before October 6

well after interview he also needs to request the exit permit from the Cuban government..and i dont know how long that is taking..but hopefully he will be here before October...thanks guys

There are several time frames. The date on the NOA2 is for the interview. Once approved you get 6 months to move. Once you set foot on american soil you get 90 days to marry. Once married I think you 90 days to Adjust status. But if you get married after the first week you still have to adjust status in 90 days. So married at the 90 day mark and AOS with in 90 days is 180 days but if married after 1 week then AOS with in 90 days is 90 day 1 week. make sense?

Not really...

Yeah, I hate countries that require "exit permit". Kind of like parole from prison or something. As an American it is a reminder that our country still maintains basic freedoms for many things that are not available to others.

Wow! Now that is a commitment and there is no going back! Does he "own" his own home? or is he living with his family making that a moot point? Do they take *all* his personal properties and send him to the USA naked?

Here is another little pearl for you. My fiancee is from Uzbekistan and they require the exit visa and a re-entry visa. If you do not return before the re-entry visa expires you have to spend time in jail until they are satisfied with why you are "late" returning.

yeah he owns a home but he has to give up that home in order to get the exit permit and this includes everything inside the home too..before the interview they do an inventory of everything thats inside and before leaving they do it again to make sure everything is still there....NOT the clothes tho.....I had to do that too when I left...and before my interview and night we tried to get stuff out of the house so nobody could see us...of course u cant leave the house empty cus they are not stupid...

119 Days since NOA1. Going crazy here! Someone here (I think) mentioned that calling the NVC to see if they have a record of your USCIS case receipt number may be a good way to see if your NOA2 has been issued and is on its way to you in the mail from USCIS. Did anyone here discover early their case was approved this way? Did anyone get an email update from Vermont or see it updated on the USCIS website? I know they are woefully bad at updating their website...

Seeing my estimated timeline bounce around so much is making me a bit insane. It seems like everytime I get close to that date it moves a little further away.

Congrats to everyone here that's already gotten their NOA2. Hopefully mine will be on its way shortly.
