yeah i have the feeling that she is more interested in the visa that the relationship itself and as a result she wants to keep me happy nomatter what....I confronted him...someone came to tell me the first day i was there...he said it was the past and I understand I was just bothered that nobody ever told me they had something..specially when this girl is not only part of the past but its still involved with my in-laws in the present...he said he cant control what his mom does..which i agreee...Im more upset with her...cus it is very disrespectful specially after everything iam doing for him and how much I love him...Now I look back all the times i visit her and that girl was there..and i was naive to all this situation....

last night she went to my house to get a letter from him...I confronted her..cus I couldnt stay quiet..she was embarrased and didnt know what to say...

You did the right thing by confronting her. As long as you do it in a polite way everything should be ok. But I would be annoyed with the whole thing, as you are at this point.

You did the right thing by confronting her. As long as you do it in a polite way everything should be ok. But I would be annoyed with the whole thing, as you are at this point.

I would have been mad too at first. I would quickly become more annoyed than anything. No its not wrong for you to feel like that at all.

Well my take on it....first yeah I'd be seriously annoyed. Your SO should have told you about it and not hear it from someone else. As for the mother in law....well she's in a difficult position as well. Its her best friend's daughter...really what is she supposed to do? Tell her best friend..."I'm sorry but since your daughter slept with my son X number of years ago and he's now getting married she can't come over to my house anymore"

As for the person who "HAD" to tell you....seriously...####### is their problem? Like your SO said...its the past...why bring it up and toss it in your face like that.

Your mother in law probably assumed that it was the past and that you'd never know so it would never hurt you.

I couldn't agree with you more. I would hate if any of my exes were hanging out with my mom. That would be a lot of pressure for my fiance. I wouldn't want her to feel like my mom likes my ex more than her. It would be odd for me as well.

I definitely feel it is ok for you to be upset - it is a natural reaction. It is also good to deal with it and discuss it with your (very soon to be) hubby and his mother. I am not going to jump to conclusions about the girl or your mother in law because I do not know much about the background. Air your concerns, express your desire that they respect you and your relationship. But there may be a legitimate friendship with this other girl and your mother-in-law that predated any fling with your hubby (has the slVt been friends with the family since childhood?) Make sure the right people know that you have your concerns about this other tr8mps relationship and continued presence. Maybe they should cut her out, maybe not, but as long as they put your relationship first and foremost.
