Good morning and Happy Thursday!

Rich, make sure you put some photos up here on VJ so we can see how HAPPY you two are! :) Have a safe flight home. I am hoping there is a special present for you in your mail box when you get home... That would make the flight back a whole lot better!!!!

I think it is going to be another go home EARLY day today and its only 8:10 am :)

I miss "whats her name!"

Now ya done it....

LIL one! where have you been.... I miss you too! *HUGS*

I have been looking at the numbers on the approvals and it is not as dismal as I thought. If you only look at the 'new' list you wont see as many as there actually are... for example on 5/27/09 there were 9 updates... some are past the last 20 recent approvals so you don't see them on the 'new' list... :) I know, it isnt much, but its better than nothing!

Its starting to move the right way again. I'm more annoyed right now with the Montreal Consulate....its taking people longer to get a damn interview then it did to get their NOA2 !! In the consulate section on here its says 4-6 MONTHS....thats NUTS! Looks like people aren't waiting quite that long but I'm seeing people still waiting for a date after 2 months. Apparently they are short staffed....they best get moving and do some hiring.

2 months for interview???!!!!!!! :ranting: That is insane. What the hell are they doing down there???

That's insane! I think in Prague it should be a few weeks out from the time we schedule... I least I hope.

In Ukraine is around 30 days average. Which is not bad. But 2 to 6 months is crazy!!!!!!!!

agreed... 6 months is absurd... I mean, I understand that the Embassy gets the file...sends out a snail mail packet... then the beneficiary has to get stuff together, send back the letter saying they are ready (via snail mail) and another notice is sent with the interview date... but 6 months.. please... I am hopeful that we can cut off some of this time by calling the Embassy when we think they have the file and getting the medical and police reports done in advance... medical is good for 6 months and the police report is good for 12 months... 30 days might be pushing it... but I remain hopeful.

Yeah I couldn't believe how slow the consulate is here right now. Its Canada for gawd sakes! lol We can easily cross the border, stay for 6 months yet 3rd world countries are getting their interviews within weeks while we are waiting months and months......I'm praying that its just a 'slow period' and they'll speed this up, do some hiring...ANYTHING. Its bad enough that as big as Canada is we only have 2 consulates that handle k-1 visas. Toronto of all places doesn't do them, only Montreal and Vancouver. I'm one of the lucky ones I suppose....I only have to drive about 7 hours and spend only one night in a hotel there. Oh...and only 3 places do the medicals. Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. If you are unlucky enough to live on the East coast you either make 2 trips or one long one.

There is my rant of the week! Its been driving me nuts since I first starting reading about this process. You try to be patient and understanding but sheesh........

Umm...I don't think it is as good as you think though... there were 9 people who updated their timeline, but only I think 2 or 3 were approvals that were added. The rest were people who had already added their NOA2 date, and then updated their NVC receive/sent date yesterday. So not "new" approvals. Still barely a trickle.

I am hoping things do pick up real soon though - from Tuesday's "update" on H1B applications, it seems there have only been a few hundred more arrive in the past 2 weeks or so. This means total volume to be approved is down about 20,000 from last year (<65,700 this year vs 85,000 last year).

And of course it does not help that USCIS seems to have abandoned all process for sending NOA2s - only rarely sending an email, and not even reliably sending snail mail letters in a timely manner (quite a few seem to have received a letter from the NVC *before* ever getting a notice).

I am really hoping things start to flow again...so frustrated and angry.

6 months is pretty awful! Of course visiting the USA from Canada and vice versa isn't a problem, so it could be worse... that does NOT make it right though.

This whole process is unorganized, inconsiderate, and for the most part typical! The only thing we can do is wait wait wait... calling doesn't help.. getting a third party involved doesn't help. The system needs an overhaul! Where's Chip Foose when you need him?!?

I didn't save the data that I have been downloading each day to see, so you could be right that they were just updated yesterday... although I see some that were updated on the 26th... that I don't recall seeing.. I admit it hard to remember everyone's names... If I had more time today, I would look.. But I am wanting to go home early :)

The whole process is terrible. I have no doubts that we will be approved, but it is a difficult process to have to suffer through. I don't know how we all do it. It is funny my SO is taking the waiting much easier than I am. I am a bit embarassed that I am an emotional basket case. However since like a lot of men I am an emotional retard anyways this is just par for the course.

I agree..this whole process is ridiculous. They quote 6 months for NOA2 and then 4-6 months for an interview date. There's people on the Canada forum now who sent in their packet 3 and it was logged in Montreal Mar 23, 2009.....and they still don't even have an interview date?? That's what I have to look forward too. UGH! They also don't give you your visa the same day either. You have to provide them with a self addressed mailer and they send it to you. lol They can't even eat the cost of an envelope. This would be funny if it wasn't my life they were messing with.
