From all indications, the wolves were here in North America before the humans came, but being the trusting animals they are, didn't form a USCIS to limit or even stop human immigration.

They did originate that phrase however, give me you weak and poor, but we left off that, we will eat them part. Deers tend to travel in herds, it's the old ones that get caught, going to die soon anyway.

I sense a solution to our social security problems.

It's probably work out that way - if weak = poor.

Hunting can be a legitimate method of controlling an animal population but I seriously doubt Palin shooting a wolf from a helicopter has anything to do with that. What really irritates me are the rich douchebags that hunt big game for sport. I'd love to play a game of tag (using live rounds) with those losers.

I am not going to get in the issue of not enough wolves or too many. People have said that a wolf only kills for food. That is not all the truth. A few years back, Yellowstone had an above average snowfall. The elk and deer could hardly move through the snow. The wolf packs went in and killed a lot of them just for the sport of it. Yes, the wolf is needed, unless man is going to depopulate the herds. I also hate to see a wolf killed. Beautiful animal as well as an elk or deer. But there has to be a balance. When I was young I hunted coyotes and they were worth $2.50 for a set of ears. Now it hurts me to even think that I did that along with hunting racoon just for hides.

And what was made with these coyote ears?

I used to get like 5 bucks for Muskrats back in the day. Racoons brought at least 18.

Wonder what they go for now?

I was being dramatic, but I denounce killing big game for sport (personally I would like to see it criminalized, much like poaching). I'm talking about the tards that kill lions, rhinos, etc. for sport, not hunting deer in an over-populated area (which actually benefits the deer population by reducing diseases, etc).

So a groundhog or rabbit gets no special luv when shot for "sport"?

Or is your whole pity built on the concept that these, bigger game animals are going extinct?

IF this could be proved, to not be the case, would you change your mind?

I don't know. I don't have a problem with people hunting for sport so long as they have respect for the animals and the environment. Getting a gun and not learning how to shoot and just taking pot shots at animals is ridiculous and I do think that is obscene, but those who hunt, take pride in shooting well and preferably use their kills for food etc and who don't kill too many animals just because they can is ok.
