I-864--huh?

My fiance just got packet 3 and he gave me the link to the website listing all the documents he will need. When I read through the site I saw:

"An I-864 is not required when applying for a fiancé(e) visa. An I-864 will be required at the time the fiancé(e) visa holder applies to adjust his or her status from nonimmigrant to conditional resident with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services(USCIS)."

Does this mean I won't need to fill one out for the interview? We'll only need one after he's in the states? Can someone who has gone through the London embassy please let me know if this is true?

yep, thats what it says. It isnt needed for the K1 fiance visa. Once you are in the USA married, and adjust status, then you will need it.

Yes, that is exactly what it means! Yippeee! Oops. You need the I-134 afadavit of support for the K-1 visa though. :) You will use the I-864 for the AOS. The poverty guidelines get revised UP on March 1.

I didn't see anything on the website about I-134. I'll ask my fiance when he wakes up. In the mean time i'll look it up!

From the US Embassy in London's website

'Persons in the U.S. who wish to furnish sponsorship of a fiancee or Kii visa applicant in the form of an affidavit of support should use form I-134 which is available from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services'
