Im having my interview tomorrow February 11, 2009. I just have a few questions regarding my fiance's name, he uses different spelling like Stephen and Steven. On his brith certificate and passport, his name is Stephen but on other documents like his IRS or 1040, he uses Steven and also to some of the docs on our K1 application. Do you think it would create a problem? What shall i do?

I have talked to my friend also last night and told her about I and my fiance's meeting here in Philippines, We only met for 2 and half days, She said maybe the consul will question about it and have to be ready for it. It's just that no one would really take care of his business in the US and his mom was so sick at that time. We've known each other for two years, first we just got to know each other for one year and on March 6, 2008, that's the time that i decided to say yes. We do have enough proofs for our fiance interview application.

Plz guys i need your help and i hope you could share with me your ideas as soon as possible.

Thank you!!

Good luck at your interview. Regarding your fiance's name, explain to them exactly as you explained to us, if asked. Say it is spelled with the ph on his birth certificate but he likes to use the v when he writes it so they will see it written both ways. It shows you are familiar with an idiosyncracy of your fiance if you can volunteer that type of information.

I have no experience in the other so cannot offer you any advice or information, but again, you seem to understand his situation well and your familiarity with his responsibilities in the US should be a positive thing in the interview.

Good luck tomorrow. I hope you get your visa.

Thank you guys!!!

To Kathryn41

Yes i do understand him, at that time i wanted not to be selfish so he would stay with me long at that time. I also care for his mother's health and she was truly so sick at that time, she needed to undergo with a gastric bypass. In fact, i was the one telling him to just go back in the US coz he supposed to stay with me for a week. But i think im just so lucky coz he still gave time to show how important i am to him and how he truly loves me coz of his situation. Plus his business no one would really take care about it, he supposed to go back here but coz of the economy now, he needs to work. I hope the consul would understand that during on my interview.

I will keep you posted guys as soon as i get home.
