Hi my name is Carmen and I am from Peru. I am going to be marrying George in Lima soon, and we are having lots of questions about the wedding in Lima. Can somebody who has married a peruvian help us please? We went to the Surco City Hall and they say we need to state in all our documents that George lives in Lima otherwise he will have to come here, start the paperwork, get the medical test then fly back to TX and post his wedding "edicto" there , then come back to Lima and finally be able to get married. He can´t be coming that often due to his job, can somebody please post how you didi it? The timings are making us feel overwhelmed, like they are saying the medical exam will be valid only for 30 days, the born certificate needs to be a recent one , and so on.

He is coming to visit me next week for 5 days and then he will come for our wedding on September.

He can only come here the most for 10 days. And they are saying everything needs to be translated and authenticated. How long does it take for the peruvian consulate in the USA to authenticate his papers?

Any advices will be very welcomed. Thank you!

Carmen

Check with the Canadian Consulate in your city, you might need to get a visa, it depends on the country you are travelling to... We went to Cabo last year and they said that normally I would need to get a visa because I have a Peruvian passport, but being that I am a permanent resident I only needed to bring my greencard.

Haven't been in here for a while so figured I would say hey! Congrats MandR for the new family on the way! :)

Kathe and I just bought a house and are settling into it. She has recieved her EAD and we are waiting for her social security card to arrive. Hopefully the AOS will be completed soon.

Veroka- we haven't started the update on the DNI yet. Can you help us out a little with the process? Thanks a bunch. :)
