I'm from Peru too! Well my fiance is

I just wanted to say hi to all the fellow Peruvians. My fiance is from Iquitos - anyone else from there? I haven't seen anyone on this website from Peru that has gotten rejected for a k1 visa... have any of you seen this happen? Our interview is Jan 31st... I am so nervous! I'm flying to Lima Jan 27th. Any tips? Advice?

Also - did any of you incorporate something Peruvian into your American wedding? Just wondering, I'm trying to think of ideas.

Did anyone else have trouble receiving their Packet 3 from the embassy before the interview? My fiance still hasn't gotten his. He called the embassy and they said they sent it 2 weeks ago and that his interview is on the 31st.

Good to meet you all! :luv:

Any Peruvian TV on the internet?

Thanks

My wife has found only one site http://www.peru.com/tv_en_vivo/# from Frecuencia Latina, but as of late she can not get it to work.

She has come across others that you have to pay to watch, but we haven't tried them.

She would really like to watch ATV if anyone knows how we could get that, internet, cable, satallite....

I came back from Lima 2 weeks ago, everything still the same BUT I'll recommend you to visit Larcomar (looks so different!!) the new stores are really cool.

I made the mistake to go to the Indian Markets in Petit Thouars with my hubby Plop!! a soon as they saw him they charge me double the price, I went back the next day with my dad and I got the regular prices. Another places that we love is "El Tayta" a bar in Miraflores with diferent kinds of Pisco Sour. "Huaringas" is in our list, great Pisco Sour too.

If you like to dance be prepared 'cause eveybody listens to "Reggaeton" we are not big fans of that rythm but they play it everywhere.

That's it.... good luck in your trip!!!!

Saludos

Hi everyone!!

Today I will know if I am able to go to Lima or not... if so, I am going to be there for a little less than a week, my parents are extremely excited and "dying" to see me with my big pregnant belly ;) I can't wait to be there again, it's been almots 2 years!!

I plan to go to the beach and just get some sun(I am soooo white!!!)... have lots of peruvian food and enjoy being with them.

It is so funny you mention that about the Mercado Inca Vi, when we went to Cabo in Mexico last October... everyone was so obvious about overcharging, once I was looking at a pair of earrings and the lady started saying the price in english, I asked her again in spanish and she reduced it by at least $2 and said "oh, you speak spanish, then that is the price for you"... I was shocked!!! Chris was so upset!!! This time I am going to Lima alone, so I am sure shopping will be easier... ;)

Better go get ready, need to see my doctor and hopefully she has good news about the trip!!!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Welcome to the board Kemerly!!!

I havent checked lately how long it takes for the 129f to process... I think it is after all shorter than it was before, some of us waited for over 8 months for the interview... all I have to say is be patient, once you are with the one you love you will see the wait was completely worth it!! ;)

In the meantime, while you are in Lima enjoy it as much as you can... take lots of pictures with your family and go to places you havent been and of course enjoy every bite of all the peruvian food you have!!!!

Good luck in the process!!

By the way, which state are you going to move to?

I forgot to mention the taxis, I take the taxis by myself while Sil hides 'cause if they see him they will overcharge us. Ex: We tried to take a taxi from Larcomar to the Kennedy park ( maybe 7 blocks???) s/.15 , was he crazy?????? and when I took it by myself s/.3.5. Here I learned to give tips and to be honest I felt really good doing that in my country, specially for Christmas.

I'm planning to go back in June and then next January, I miss the summer so much :crying: , it's so cold in NY :crying: .

Good Luck Meli, I'm sure your parents are dying to see you again.

KEMERLY...>> As Melissa said, try to spend alot of time with your family and friends, take pictures, get videos, enjoy the food 'cause being far is not so easy.

Abrazos
