Help my parents in law for the citizenship test and interview

Hey everyone,

Just wornding if you could advise me of how can I help my parents in law preparing for thier citizenship test and interview?!They are both old in thier 70s and they don't speak English. My father in law speaks little bit. They should apply for citizenship next September. I am sending this request early coz I am not sure of what kind of test I need to help them with. I thought it is better to start!Do you think in thier age they might go easy on them?!I found 100 sample question on this site for the test!Should they just memorize it?!Pleeeeeze advise. Thanks in advance

Well according to the instructions on the N400 if you're 50 yrs old (PR for at least 20 yrs) or 55 yrs old( PR for at least 15yrs), you do not need to take the English test but you have to take the civics test in the language of your choice.

Since they're over 65 yrs old, they do not have to take the English test but they will be tested for the simpler version of the civis test in the language of their choice. It just depends now on how long have they been a permanent resident.

Thanks for your reply! Well this sounds like a good news!!!They will be permanent residents for five years by this September. As I understand, correct me if I am wrong, they can submit thier N400 two or three months before the five years. For the civic test, they speak Arabic. So can they do it in Arabic or they only have particular language choices?
