You sound like me. I hate working but I hate missing work for being sick too. I usually try to keep it to one day. Especially now that I'm saving my time for maternity leave.

i think i'll have a total of 95 hours by april 19 (counting annual and sick) if i don't miss work anymore. 95/6 - 15.8, so i'll have 3 weeks of paid maternity leave and 9 week of unpaid :dead:

Sounds about like what I'll have. If I don't miss anymore I should have around 3 weeks of paid. I've already filled out the paperwork for shared leave though. So hopefully I'll get some donated to me. I know mom will give me some I'm just not sure how much. I'm hoping to have at least 8 weeks of paid and only 4 weeks of unpaid.

I am trying to get 400 hours on the books. Our MOU says I can be reimburst at 100% for up to 400 hours of annual leave. After that you only get 2% per year so if I worked 10 years I would only get paid 20% of any leave over 400 hours  I have no idea why people like to have hundreds and hundreds of hours on the books.

Morning people :)

I'm coloring my hair today. I decided to stick with the red color one more time. Next time I will go back to blonde for the summer. I've started my vitamin/supplement stuff for my surgery  I seriously feel like I'm some sort of really sick person. I am taking 14 pills in the morning and 6 in the afternoon   Thank god I only have to do this for 4 weeks.

Nessa I hope you feel better soon! Get lots of rest!

I think people can donate their time off to you. When my aunt had her baby a lot of the girls she works with donated time to her. She ended up getting quite a bit of pto from them :) It's worth a try!

Yeah, we have shared leave here. Anyone can donate time to you if you turn it in. Of course, it has to be approved, which here, means it goes through all sorts of channels. That's why I've filled it out already. But anyone that works for the state can donate time to me. My mom works here and she'll donate. A guy in her building also said he'd donate a week to me. Hopefully there will be some more nice people out there that will help me out. Oh, and relatives can donate vacation time or sick leave. Anyone not related to you can only donate sick leave.

I'd definitely check into it. We have 3 different forms we have to fill out for it. One of which my doctor has to fill out. Then once it's approved they send an email out to the entire campus saying I've been approved for shared leave. Then anyone can donate if they would like.

  I'd do it anyway. You never know what people will do. I don't think I'll get anyone else to donate to me either. But I'm taking a chance on it. Look at it this way, if you do it and get time donated that's great. If you do it and don't get any time donated you're not any worse off than you already were. Just out the time it took you to fill out the paperwork.
