no booty. FMLA doesn't need approval. you are allowed 12 weeks no matter what. i was told 6 weeks to. I bet my boss doesn't want to approve 12 weeks. But if she doesn't, I will do whatever necessary to have my 12 weeks and I will get it or she will be in trouble. The law is on my side.

Well, that's what I thought too. I hadn't really read up on it until yesterday before my meeting. I realized after I typed that last response I left some stuff out. They don't have to "approve" it in order to get it, they just tried to make me think that's how it worked. After reading over the material I discovered I was entitled to the 12 weeks no matter what. I just might not get paid for the whole thing. I'm still going to take the 12 weeks. We'll work something out to get the bills paid for that time.

I'm really more excited they approved my 3/4 time than anything. It's really going to help us because now we won't have to put the kids in daycare. My sil will be able to keep them.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

Yeah, I have one week right now. But, I gain 11 hours of vacation and 8 hours of sick leave every month. Hopefully the weather will hold out and I won't have to use any of that. By the time I go out I'm hoping to have around 3 weeks saved up. Since I work for the state they allow other state employees to donate time to you. My mom works there also so she is going to donate some time to me. Also, one of the coaches she works with already told her he'd donate a week to me. I'm hoping I'll have about 2 months worth of time. Then we'll only have a month to worry about.
