I have the baby bug and we're not married yet. Not enough to get fertility treatments and have 14 kids as a single mother, but the "let's get married and then right away get pregnant." What do I do to get rid of this bug???

Aww, that's natural I think. You know how I got rid of the bug? I've spent the last 6 months trying to get pregnant to no avail. Now my attitude is "meh, who needs a baby?" :-)

True story. I'm 22 but I feel older than that. I did everything early lol (except have a baby thank God!). I was done with my bachelor's at 19, have been teaching at the high school level ever since (Only this year did I start telling them how old I was lol), have already been married to a jerk and got cheated on, so divorced him. At least I didn't decide to have a baby with him! I guess I now see how great my fiance is with kids and being with him makes me have one, not just to have one for the fun of it. I DO NOT want to be a single mother!

My fiance and I talk about this often, and since we're hoping to get married this summer we're hoping that by summer '11 we'll be ready. That will give us a little over a year to be together and do couple stuff, by that time I'll be 24, and he'll have a job, we'll be more stable, etc. Either way, I need to keep reminding myself of this so I won't just decide to stop taking my pills without thinking first.

Go volunteer at a daycare center for battered women. Do some good and get that bug out of your system. Oh and one other thing - make sure your man gets the visa before you get knocked up - no one wants to be preggers waiting for their man in AP.

LOL I'm sure it will come soon!!! That's the other thing about "planning" to get pregnant. Since I teach, I'd like to have the baby during the summertime but with my luck we'll get pregnant about 4 months after we planned and the baby will be born right when school starts grrr. And I'll be a miserable pregnant woman in the summertime.

u mean they approved 12 weeks leave? why would they not? you're eligible for 12 weeks no matter what.

Because originally they told me I could only have 6 weeks. And, typically, my boss and my supervisor are pretty hard to get along with so I had been expecting only 6 weeks the entire time. Even though, according to FMLA, I am allowed 12 weeks where I work it's up to your boss/supervisor to approve that time.

no booty. FMLA doesn't need approval. you are allowed 12 weeks no matter what. i was told 6 weeks to. I bet my boss doesn't want to approve 12 weeks. But if she doesn't, I will do whatever necessary to have my 12 weeks and I will get it or she will be in trouble. The law is on my side.
