Should I not receive the NOA first before they cashed the checks??

I'd wait another week or two for the NOAs before worrying.

I'm sure the first thing they do is cash the cheques, then start the processing and send the NOAs.

Yeah, Catherine is right... The NOA is usually sent out after the checks are cashed especially if you sent personal checks because those take a while to clear. My NOA arrived a couple of days after my check was cashed.

Yeah, Catherine is right... The NOA is usually sent out after the checks are cashed especially if you sent personal checks because those take a while to clear. My NOA arrived a couple of days after my check was cashed.

Yep, they send the NOAs after your check clears. No processing unless you hand over the proper greens! :)

Just checked today and it says they transferred my case to California Service Center for processing. Is this a good thing? normal thing? I did a lot of research on the K1 process but unfortunately I'm clueless about the AOS process. Any info would be great guys, thanks.

Just checked today and it says they transferred my case to California Service Center for processing. Is this a good thing? normal thing? I did a lot of research on the K1 process but unfortunately I'm clueless about the AOS process. Any info would be great guys, thanks.

We were transferred to the CSC as well - but we found out through a mailed letter. Haven't been able to view case status online.

As far as I know, being transferred to the CSC is a good thing considering you usually won't have to endure a face-to-face interview (where you re-prove your bonafide relationship). Instead they process and mail you your green card. I suggest taking a look at your local office statistics in the immigration timeline section. I went and looked up timelines for Houston cases transferred to the CSC and it looks like the usual wait is 3 months or so until the Green Card.
