Well my EAd arrived in the mail today having been posted on the 4th June, but still no sign of my AP which was apparently posted 29th May.

Should I be worried? or do anything. 10 days seems a long time for it to be in transit.

Cino : Can you please update my status [ Card Production Ordered]

Here is my exp at the AOS interview.

We reached the office at San Bernardino at 8:00 AM, there was a McDonalds near by so we thought we will have breakfast before we go in.. we stopped and to my surprise so a lot of ghetto people and my husband told me this is a bad area as they were all looking at us and we were the only ones dressed with clean neat clothes.. anyways we parked our car in the parking lot and walked towards to front door.

Gave the passports and interview letter to the card and went through the check [ just as in airports] He then told us to go to the 2nd floor and put the letter in the center window, we went through the lift and walked inside to find 6 couples waiting before us. we put the letter and were asked to sit, while watching the news channel outside we saw one couple who was with a lawyer get denied and the lawyer was explaining possibilities to re-apply in spanish [ Did not understand a word but knew the gestures].

Our appointment was booked for 9:30 AM and while waiting many more couples walked in with kids and we were looking at them play while the couples that had arrived before us were being called, at 10:05 AM a Filipino elderly man came in and called my name, he did not have a smile.. he had a dead serious face and we thought thats it we are already in the deniel list, I got upset and started getting nervous.

We made us sit and then asked for our ID's, gave him my EAD and he gave his Drivers Licence.. he took the appointment letter and made photocopies and came back and said that he needs to read a long letter and then we need to stand up for the Oath, he read the letter which said that i will be punishable by law............................ and then we took the oath and sat down.

He asked my husband is he was wearing those clothes cause of religion [ He had a black kurta], then there was a 30 mins talk about religion and he does not believe in any but God and explained why he doesnt and whats important is Love [ I was waiting for the stamp ;) ]

He then confirmed all the info on the form, asked if i had anythign with our names on it, gave him bills with same address but they werent joint, gave him our flight confirmation tickets to london, marriage cirtificate, and the svaings bank account [ He dint look at any of these just took them and filed them...then stamped my application as Aprroved :) i gave a big grin and they continued talking about Love and God. He then explained the removal of conditional status and wrote the date so we remember.

He told me he will stamp my passport and be back and then got back saying he needs to go down and do it... we walked along with him and he stamped my passport and wished me luck and success and said keep that smile on your face :)

We thanked him and walked out.

Thank you guys for all those kind words and wishes they really helped :)

I did.

the next day I received an email from CRIS confirming the basic data I had given over the phone when requesting action after 90

+ days and a couple of days later a letter arrived 'snail mail' confirming the same details... how useful! NOT

However I did get action within a week.... the web site finally acknowledged my existence, AP was 'sent' (but still not received 10 days later) and my EAD arrived in the mail a couple of days after that.

Coincidence possibly, or maybe it did give someone a nudge to pull my application off the pile.

Good luck anyway

Me too.. I literally had to nag USCIS into sending my EAD. Check out my timeline below... The last time I called Customer Service, I mentioned that I wanted to put a service request in since it was past 90 days.. I got a reply the same day saying that I should hear from them within 60 days... However, it seemed to have woken up the person handling my application and I got the "Card Production" email 3 days later.

Lo and Behold redux.

My AP finally arrived by snail mail this afternoon. It took eleven days from Mobile processing center so one may only assume that it must have been carried on the back of a particularly indolent snail or, to be fair, perhaps the little fellow had difficulties on the way.

Anyway, no R&D of luggage recipies for me, all's well that ends well to quote old Willie Shakespeare.

But of course we're not quite done yet, still the matter of the green card. Seems like, from looking at Cino's spreadsheet (and many thanks for all your time and effort with that Cino) when a case is transferred to California it takes about six to eight weeks and we are coming up to week six but that was before USCIS decided to 'upgrade' their card production facilities so who knows? perhaps the effect of that will become clearer as , more of our friends here are approved.

Still, 'high ho! high ho! it's off to work we go' and back to the UK to see me dear old dad.

Very best wishes to all and hang in there.

Hey,

We had our interview today in Detroit. I guess my first question is, what does it mean when you are not approved and not not approved at the interview?

We arrived at 1;30pm, interview was not scheduled until 2pm. We waited until just about 2pm when a man called us in. He said their power had gone out this morning and they had no computers to use.

We got to his office and he swore us in right away. He seemed melancholic the whole time and I wasn't sure if it was because he was having a bad day or what. Anyway, he started out asking my wife questions, (she is the peitioner) and confirmed what was on the application. He did the same for me. He didn't ask any of the questions I thought he might ask, just confirmed what was on the application. He then asked for any supporting documentation, he wasn't specific and my wife told him we had a lot, and he said he would take whatever we had. He even said it was up to us what we should leave him, he didn't seem to care if we left him all or none. So we left him everything. He didn't look at any of them, just put them in the file. He didn't want any pictures or even look at them.

He then asked me a peculiar question. I have remained in the states since we filed, my wife has gone to Canada to take care of my stuff every couple of weeks. Back near the end of February, on her first trip of doing this, when she was coming back, they held her at the border for 3 hours, apparently concerned about something. They never really said anything to her why, just that I would have to return to Canada if I was laid off (I had a TN when we filed). I was laid off but a lawyer friend told us to remain in the US. On a second trip, she was detained again and one of the Border Officers said they were checking to see if she was trying to smuggle me back. She got pissed and one the officers fixed it so she would not have any more problems. But the sheet of paper he was looking at when he asked me the question said they told me that I was laid off and I had to go back. Which was not the case since I wasn't with her. So anyway, his question was if I had traveled in February and had any problems coming back and then he eloborated on the lay off and TN thing. I said no, I had not traveled and that they had said something to my wife to that affect one time she was coming back. His response was OH REALLY? and he said he would have to investigate it further. Which he couldn't do since his computer was down.

He finished up by asking us if we had any questions for him, I answered not really, just if we were approved or not. He said he couldn't do anything because the computers were down. He said if I am approved I would receive the GC in about 2 weeks, I asked him about the delay in GC production and he said he remembered it mentioned 2 weeks ago but said it would not take 6-8 weeks.

He took my AP and I94 and left me with the EAD.

So I am not sure where I stand now nor do I know what to do next.

Anyway with any incite?

First of, CONGRATULATIONS !...

What IO has done is normal, when the computer is down you can not see anything like FBI Name Check, 130 Approval & possibly the other situations etc..... When he is not able to see those crucial steps in your AOS application, he can not decide right there & there. I am sure next thing you will see a "Welcome Letter" in your mail box, but I do not know about the GC though due to Card Production Delay. People who have been approved at the beginning of May haven't received their GC yet. It is very positive sign that he has taken your AP & I-94 back. Wait & see, also check CRIS e-mails. Please let us know if anything comes up.
