my case finally got transferred to california today, please can you update the spreadsheet. thanks. :)

Well I finally got around to calling the powers to be this morning to find out where my case is at and was told that it's being worked on and at the moment they're up to Oct 08 for crying out loud!!!!! (which is a crock of @#%* if you ask me as other Feb filers have already recieved their GC).

Then when I queried about EAD & AP I was told it takes 3 months so I should hear back about them by the end of the month. When I complained that other Feb filers have received their GC already and others had already been transfered to CSC she told me that if a case is transfered it's to ease their workload, it doesn't mean anything else, (except me not having to drag myself off on a 2.5hr drive to Memphis for an interview!!!!!).

I guess I can hang on till the end of the month for EAD & AP since they're the most important thing right now, but I'm not going to let the "we're working on Oct 08" thing drop. Asking another person next time I call could get me a different answer alltogether.

At the end of the day it's eased my mind to know they recieved my RFE back at the end of March, I had a horrible thought that they were going to tell me it hadn't turned up and I was going to have to send it all over again

My 90 days was yesterday, have called them 3x over the past few weeks, still pending. Asked for EAD and AP expedite and they said no.

I give up with them, interview is in a few weeks, guess its no point hoping for the EAD now, would have been nice to accept a job offer in this economy since they are so rare. Considering the amount of February filers that now have their EAD and AP according to the spreadsheet I am confused why mine is taking so long. Oh well, just more frustrated.

No, not yet. I have been waiting for Interview Date.

We're still waiting for the interview notice too. =( I'm wondering how long we wait before making an info pass appointment.

Hey guys.....

I have a quick question and would really appreciate your response. Prior to filing for AOS I had a ssn because I worked on campus at the college I attended. I got my EAD about 2 weeks ago. Do I have to go right in and reapply for a new ss card? I mean ppl don't normally ask to see your card when you fill out the number on something. And if I do, how long does this process take?

Thanks so much!

You can not apply for the second SS# for the same person. Once you get the SS#,

it is forever for you to keep even after you change your first and/or last name, even after you pass away.

No body is gonna have the same number at any given time.

So every SS# is UNIQUE !.....

We're still waiting for the interview notice too. =( I'm wondering how long we wait before making an info pass appointment.

Every case is unique & different. If you are lucky Everything goes nice & smooth, faster & no problems at all....

If you look at our spreadsheet, everybody's timeline is different.

USCIS does not follow any rules actually, they just handle the cases randomly If you ask me.

But keep in your mind, the Notice Letter for AOS interview will be coming

from the Local office which totally depends how busy they are. Every Local Office has got different loads to process.

For Example, Compare this : The local USCIS offices in Manhattan, NY & Anchorage, AK. I guess there is a big difference

between these offices in respect of the applications they handle.

What I suggest is let's wait until the end of May to receive our Appointment Letter, if nothing is received by then, we will do something about it. Talk to you soon & Take Care...

Thanks for responding. I know that I can't apply for a new ssn, but don't I have to get a new card (same number) since my last name has changed. Also, the current one has a restriction printed on it since I was to only use it for working on campus.

Of course, you can do that. You have to take your Marriage Certificate, your SS card (If you still have it, even if it is lost

it does not matter as long as you know the number) & your EAD. You can have the new card with the new last name & No Working Restrictions, but still the SAME SS NUMBER !.....

It takes 1 week to arrive your SS Card in your mailbox.

any good news feb filers?

Hi fellow Feb filers! We had our interview today at Jacksonville, FL and I'm glad to share the good news that I've been granted conditional permanent resident status! Yippeee! Let me share some of the highlights of the interview:

- We arrived 15mins before our appointment (ie, 12:30pm). We went through the x-ray security system (had our belts removed, cellphones turned off).

- We were called in exactly at 12:30. We assume the IO is in his early 50's, and is a pleasant man.

- He swore us in to tell the truth, and as soon as we all sat down, he asked for our passports. While he was looking at my Philippine passport, he said he too is married to a Filipina for 21 years. That really made us feel more relaxed specially as he went on to say that he's been to Singapore too on many occasions. We talked a bit about Singapore, asked me if I liked it there (I used to live in Singapore before I met my USC husband). It was more like a very relaxed conversation more than it was an interview.

- Then we went back to business: he asked where we met, asked for some paperwork to show that we're living together (we showed him the insurance, rental lease, and photos).

- He asked if he could get some photos, which we gladly said of course. Basically, he took pictures where my family and Jim's family are in it, and where my friends are in it too during our trip to Singapore.

- At the end of it, he said he's going to approve my application and that I will receive my green card in 2-3 weeks time. He handed an "approval" letter and explained about the I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions of Residence within 90 days before my I-551 expires. We were soooo happy! The interview lasted about half an hour. We had a pleasant experience overall.

- By the way, the IO said the procedure has changed so he's not stamping my passport with anything. He just took my I-94. I asked if I need to surrender my EAD, he said I should keep it first. The letter with the GC should contain information on how I should proceed and what to do with the EAD card.

NOTE: There's a bit of a twist though about this whole thing and I'm not sure if it was a mistake on the part of the IO. Nevertheless, I'd like to share it with you for reference. I only noticed it when we got home: The A# on my approval letter is different from the A# on all my I-797C Notices. I was concerned that the IO would order the GC under a different A#, hence a different name would be printed on my GC. <Oh no!>

So I called the National Customer Service Center about my concern and the lady told me to make an InfoPass. That wasn't quite the answer I was expecting so I asked my husband if he could call them again for me. After all we just had the interview today and I thought it should be easy to rectify the problem (if there is any). My husband talked to a male optr, took note of the situation and took all of my information, including the incorrect A# on the approval letter and said he would send a request for a correction. He gave my husband a referral number and said that there's no need for us to contact them again regarding this matter, rather I would hear from them through mail or email in 5 days. I hope that already fixed the problem. :)

REMINDER: Relax. There's nothing to worry about so long as your marriage relationship is legit. Try to remember your Alien # too just in case the IO gives you a letter with a different Alien Number on it, so it can be corrected while the IO is still at it. BEST WISHES TO ALL!

Kindly update the spreadsheet to update my information. Thanks Cino!
