If you have finished your Biometrics before the 20th of march then you very well should have the interview date, i dont think your case is being transfered as you would have been notified about this way before you recieved EAD/AP.

Call the 1-800 number on your Biometrics NOA and press 123 as soon as you hear the IVR. Tell the customer support agent you can not view your case online and were calling to check the case status, they will connect you to the 2nd level[escalate] and the other person now will ask you a bunch of questions like your reciept number, SSN or A#, date of birth, name and address once confirmed inform him that you are looking for the case status and he should be able to tell you whats happening.

Hmm.. I'm beginning to wonder if we should worry about our application. We filed 2/16 and have received the EAD/AP but have had no sign of an interview letter yet. Seeing how nearly everyone in Feb already has their interview date or GC/transfer and we have heard nothing is a bit concerning. I'm especially concerned because the Biometrics interview letter had that bit about "failing to show up to the interview will result in the app being considered abandoned". I'd hate to lose the application and the $1000! I'm worried our interview letter got lost in the mail somehow. My case for all three applications still shows as "pending" online, which is amusing because we already have the EAD/AP.

Anyway, does anyone know if there is a number you can call and find out if an interview has been scheduled?

Hmmm, my biometrics appointment was on 13th March and I have heard nothing since. That was at Latham NY (Albany) and they do seem to be slower than other local offices. Pity as I live in Vermont and they are pretty quick but they sent me there as the office is nearer to home i guess.

Corporation formed, equipment bought , staff lined up to hire and contracts ready to start and......... no EAD!!! ;-(

what a pain!!!

Congrats to you lucky folks though

And the USCIS website denies I exist

Hey Cino,

Thanks for your advise! My wife did go 2 weeks earlier, and took her 2nd biometrics in less than 10mins! They just took 1 fingerprint and then compared it to the one she previously took, and she was good to go.

Now the waiting game for that interview appointment begins...

Thanks again!

You are welcome. If you need any help, you know how to find me.

Cino,

How long should we wait before contacting USCIS for EAD. I haven't recieved it yet....it is getting very stressful!

I tried calling the USCIS number and got to the 'second level' they just told me to call back once it was over 75 days since filing........ about as much use as a chocolate teapot that lot!

If I were you, I wouldn't worry about EAD/AP, because your interview will be held on 05-14-09.

Even If you have got EAD & AP today, you will surrender them to IO during the interview anyway.

So what are they good for ? It is very rare that EAD and/or AP arrive in the mail after the interview date.

Hence you will be getting them very soon in the mail which you won't be able to use them :)

The best thing to do for you right now not to worry about EAD/AP but TO CONCENTRATE ON THE INTERVIEW

(Like gathering all the supporting evidents & documents that your marriage has been Bona Fide).

Talk to you later, until then take care...

Got my biometrics done today. It lasted about 10 mins. I asked the lady who was fingerprinting me if she could change the name on my application to my married name. But she told me that the only way it can be done is during the interview.

Yes, she is right. ASC does not have an authority to do that , they are just clerks who just take biometrics.

Finally your Bio is done, little bit late but it could be worse. I hope the rest of your case will go

smoothly & faster. GOOD LUCK !.....

Sorry to hear that, you don't have too much luck in this AOS process. First Biometrics & then RFE for taxes.

But it could be worse, look at it from the bright side. Send another copy of 2008 Tax Return ASAP,

so they can resume your case immediately.

TAKE IT EASY !....

I've been checking the mail everyday now for any sign of USCIS mail. I'm a little worried because both her AP & EAD were approved on the same day, but

one took an extra week to arrive. I wonder if our mail is getting sucked into some sort of USPS "black hole" along the way. We and Yves seem to be the only

ones in our "block" on the spreadsheet who haven't received any interview notice. The rest of ya'll seem to have moved along nicely.

AP and EAD approval & mailing are different than an interview notice date. EAD/AP comes from NBC (Missouri), however

appointment date is solely controlled by your local office & depends on how busy they are. I am sure you will receive it very soon.

Cino - Thank you very much for the advice. I've been married for almost 4 years now and already started putting together the supporting docs. I hope a beautiful daughter and co-ownership of home will help us in the interview.

What worries me is that they put people from certain countries in security check ####### causing un-necessary headache and delays.
