so... stupid question here. does anything happen after the biometrics appointment? do i get something in the mail?

I haven't gotten any news related to my biometrics appointment since I had it on March 3rd. I haven't had any news at all since my transfer notice arrived also on March 3rd.

same here... no updates whatsoever after my biometrics on March 13th. Sure it is too early to expect any news but the waiting is quite stressing, especially if like me you`re desperatly waiting for the EAD. I would apprecciate if I could at least follow up my case online but as somebody point out before it is better to not rely on that

I got mine yesterday also!!! We don't have the EAD either!! We filed 2/9/2009 and our interview date is May 5, 2009. I have seen ones get their EAD 2 weeks before their interview so hopefully we get ours before the interview

I guess I'm weird...I don't care about the AOS...I want me EAD. I have a job wanting to hire me but they have given me a 15 day window to get my EAD before they offer the job to someone else. I doubt I'll get such a sweet job offer later on. Grrr wish I could speed this up or come up with some method of taking the job even though I don't have the EAD yet. Job shadowing for a couple weeks or something? *sigh*

May 6th is when they say I should expect my EAD. 3 month waiting period.

I just read in the I-9 form which the employer has to fill out that if the EAD (proof of work authorisation) is not available at time of hiring then they have three days to provide the recipt for the application of the EAD and have to provide the EAD within 90 days after that. Is this possibly a loop hole?

[section 2, Employer: For the purpose of completing this form, the term "employer" means all employers including those recruiters and referrers for a fee who are agricultural associations, agricultural employers or farm labor contractors.Employers must complete Section 2 by examining evidence of identity and employment eligibility within three (3) business days of the date employment begins. If employees are authorized to work, but are unable to present the required document(s) within three business days, they must present a receipt for the application of the document(s) within three business days and the actual document(s) within ninety (90) days. However, if employers hire individuals for a duration of less than three business days, Section 2 must be completed at the time employment begins. Employers must record:

3. Document number;

I got a letter today that said "Request for applicant to appear for initial interview". Is there another interview after this? although I am happy I got the interview letter, I did have a doubt if there are more interviews.

Hummmm... EAD is usually sent in about 90days. If we go to the interview at 68 days and lets assumer my husband gets approved and get the card in 20 days, its still sort of the same time period, better yet, he has a greencard in hand allowing him to work right away and travel as well... Its better than waiting for all these little extra things, when you can get it all in one...

That makes sense but I don't have an interview date at all. No touched or anything. I figure my safest and fastest bet is the EAD.

I am a January filer but came to this forum to see the Feb filers timeline and see if I can offer some help based on my journey. I noted a quote about employers being allowed to give three days to employees who do not have their EAD card but I also noticed that it said "If employees are authorized to work, but are unable to present the required document." The EAD is the authorization to work so without it there is no three day timeframe to submit receipt for the application. I guess they mean in the event something unforeseen happen that makes them unable to present it for example if it is lost and they have asked for it to be replaced and have not yet recieved the replacement THEN they can show the receipt as proof that a replacement is on its way or something. Don't watch the wording about having 90 days to submit the actual card, its the IF employeed are AUTHORIZED to work that's the key phrase there. I hope that the card comes in time for you to get the job.

Most January filers have been getting their EAD cards within two months after the actual mailing of the application and our interview date within 3 months. I hope it will be the same for you Feb filers as well. Be blessed.
