i'm not sure what you should do about that... have you tried calling your local cis office? maybe they can tell you if they sent it out and it got lost in the mail or if there is another problem?

Quick question, is there anything my wife needs to be here for if she were to travel back to Canada? She needs to take care of things

at home and we don't have the AP yet. We were thinking of sending her back anyway and when it comes, I will mail it to her. Should

she stay here instead or is there only "waiting" between biometrics and AP/EAD arrival or interview?

I don't think she can leave the US before the AP document has been issued without causing her USCIS to consider her AOS application abandoned.

The instructions of the Adjustment of Status form state that the act of leaving the US before advance parole has been granted triggers them to deem your AOS application abandoned. Also, the instructions for the AP form state in the Advanced Parole Document section that the act of leaving the US triggers them to consider your AP application abandoned.

She probably get the AP sometime next month. I think it's safest to wait it out. I have no idea how they would know that you left the US but I wouldn't chance it.

It took a week after I received my NOA's to get the appointment letter.

I called the customer service people and put in a service request for biometrics... had to fudge the dates a little (told them the date I mailed it in as opposed to the date on the RFE) because otherwise they kept telling me to wait.

So, I called the 1.800.375.5283 number to check why I could not see my case online. A tick is that once you press 1 (for English) and then *1, you get transferred to a live person. I am sure there is there another combination where we can talk to an officer directly instead of an operator. I always forget the combination to talk to one. The first guy said he could not see much of my information. Then I requested to be transferred to an immigration officer and he did. The officer mentioned that it was too early to expect any updates as I mailed in my stuff recently on Feb 9th. Also he mentioned that there was no need for the 2008 tax returns as they update the need for a tax return a year after the return is due.

Also, he said he would send an email out to why my case was still not online. And for now the case looks okay. Just thought I'd update you guys.

Pressing 123 when you hear the automated voice also gets you to a live person directly.

Hey guys, a silly question, but exactly what IS biometrics? They don't really tell you in the letter and I assume it has something to do with fingerprinting, but I don't know...

You go into the service centre and they take your fingerprints, your picture and record your signature. That's it.

Make sure you have your appointment letter, your passport and you marriage certifiacate if you've chaged your name.
