well? :whistle:

:lol::lol::lol:

Here's my report:

Ivan and Martha: I thought they did well with the hip hop routine (Ivan, of course, much better than Martha on this one). I like the choreography a lot. In fact, it's the first hip hop routine that made me sit up. Their second routine needs a lot of work (agree with the judges). I also wish they reversed the order for the duets (same with the other dancers) because they ended on a pretty bad note.

Ivan's solo: What was that? I'm glad Nigel said something about gimmicks. Now is not the time to focus on "having fun". It makes me wonder how much more Ivan can do.

Martha's solo: Although she's a gorgeous girl, she lacks the spark. And yes, it's her eyes that bring her down. Where are they? She doesn't communicate well with the audience.

Travis and Heidi: For the paso doble, I thought they needed more breadth in their movements in certain areas. A lot of good moments, though! :thumbs: Heidi is so light that she needs to work extra hard on looking more "grounded" for this piece. But overall, I really liked it. I thought they were well-matched.

For their contemporary, Travis definitely looked great (finally!). For Heidi, the movements didn't look so organic but it was a good try. I LOVE the choreography. I liked the first lift that they did, the use of props, and the use of space. :luv:

Heidi's solo: loved her costume and her perfomance was very good.

Travis' solo: Hhmmmm... he reminds me of a very talented student who lacks discipline. Come on... stretch that supporting leg during the turns! :angry:

Allison & Ryan: First, the contemporary. Again, I LOVE the choreography (and the costume). I thought it was good although I saw them lose their footing twice. But it was a really difficult piece and they should get extra points for that. The second piece (jazz) was... well, cute.

Allison's solo: I agree with the judges - she needs to change expressions within a piece. Nothing wrong with her dancing.

Ryan's solo: He's got great elevation (in his jumps) but then lacks the ability to communicate with the audience. Also needs to reach out with his extremities... he makes himself look short.

Dmitri and Donyelle: The Lindy Hop - average perfomance. The second duet was better than the first.

Donyelle's solo: Great! :thumbs:

Dimitri's solo: Ugh! <_<

Benji and Natalie: Both moved well in the routines. I agree with the judges, they were not together a lot of times during the hip hop.

Benji's solo: Definitely entertaining!

Natalie's solo: She has beautiful lines, and has such a light quality about her.

That's it for my report. Of course, that's only my opinion of the dancing. BTW, what's with all the aerials (cartwheels with no hands) during the solos?

And if you're wondering... yes, I took notes so I'll know what to write. ;)

Here's my take...

Ivan & Martha...I dunno, I didn't find that hip hop that special from either of them. The waltz...zzzzzzzz.

Ivan's solo - glad he was taken to task for the shoes. Martha's solo - it was just ok.

Allison & Ryan...I wasn't that crazy about the contemporary piece...too many hard lines for me, but I'll concede that it was a difficult piece. The Broadway piece...eh, it was ok.

Allison's solo - good. Ryan's solo - I liked it.

Dmitri & Donyelle... I thought they did really well in the Lindy hop and pretty good in the Samba. I think I expected more out of Dmitri in the Samba though.

Donyelle's solo - pretty good and this week I DID like Dmitri's solo and even thought his in-your-face to Nigel when he ripped off his shirt, was funny. I DO think that was a statement to Nigel...LOL

Travis & Heidi - The paso doble was pretty good and I thought they did a really nice job in the contemporary. I agree with the one judge that said Heidi is usually so tight and crisp in her movements and she really sofented up for this dance.

I liked both of their solos, especially Heidi's.

Benji & Natalie - I thought their hip hop was better than the judges did. Oh well, what do I know. And their jazz number was very good too.

Both of their solos were great. It was good to see Natalie NOT playing the sex kitten.

All in all, of the men, Benji was my favorite and I'd have to give Heidi & Donyelle a tie. They both were "ON". I relaly thought it was sweet when right after Benji's solo and what'sherface announced that Donyelle and Dmitri were next to dance, that he went "gooo Donyelle" Awww! hehehe

I think it's overdue time for Ivan to go... and I hate to say it, but I don't think Martha brought it all to the dance floor last night.

GO AHEAD...FLAME ME!!! :lol::lol::lol:

No flaming from me. :D

I agree. Ivan and Martha need to go very soon.

My favorites at the moment are Benji, Heidi, Allison and Donyelle (and to some extent the "undisciplined" Travis who has some potential if he could only get over all that personal baggage). I don't know what's up with the men but they don't seem to be working/dancing as well as the women.

I don't really see what the fixation is with Dmitri either. He does nothing for me at all. I was getting quite tired of seeing his chest. I thought after Nigel said something about it he would cover it up but I guess he didn't take the hint. He thinks it's getting the ladies votes.

I know it was Martha but I don't know which guy either. I also went to sleep. Except I went to sleep before they announced either one. I had to ask Javier this morning about it because he stayed up. But, he only stayed up long enough to see which girl it was. I guess we'll have to wait for someone else to come along to tell us which guy it was.

I'm getting annoyed that Ivan is coasting through...I really thought it was his time to go. And oooh, kinda shocked the voting girls didn't keep Dmitri in. Ah well...I think it's safe to say he'll be made offers. Look how the Russian guy from last year is helping to train some of the ballroom numbers this year.

Martha and Dimitri.. :(:(:(:crying::crying::crying:

I have never posted on this thread, but I'm getting really obsessed with this show. :blush: Just wanted to join the club :)

I was really sad to see Martha go, but at this point I don't want anyone to go, except Travis. He's an excellent dancer but he has serious personality problems.

What I really want to know is, are all the guys gay? Just a few? None? My gaydar is really failing me here

Join the club!! :lol:

YEY DIMITRI's GONE!! YEY YEY YEY :dance:

You know.. last night i felt that Dimitri was dancing for his life better than Ryan but seems like he's there for the 5th time and this time on his own accord so it's his time to go!! Seems the judge got the hint!! took them long enough... cant believe Musa is not there anymore :crying:

So sad for Martha.. she's a bright young dancer.. but she has a long road ahead of her and she's only 19 so.. next year!!

Now next week gonna be difficult.. I like Donyelle, Heidi and Benji.. I'm ok with Travis.. i think he's too emotional though.. hmm.. i'd be so sad if i have to miss the show again! :whistle:
