Okay, I had to look them up because I don't remember most of the names yet. But Danny must be a step or half brother of Travis, huh?

Most of the women are very attractive this season. I don't why there aren't more men who watch the show!

Danny is his adopted brother. But last night he was telling his sorry tale of a bad rough childhood and how he found salvation through dance and then he says something like "and that's how I met the woman who adopted me when I was 12" which I thought was super creepy because it suggests he was adopted to become a dancing protege, which reminds me of part of the plot of Blades of Glory. :P

Yeah, I think that was a poor decision. The guy they let stay in won't be in for long.

I agree wholeheartedly that the decision to let Jimmy go was a poor one. There are far better hip-hop dancers in the show. Last year, I was a bit skeptical when they kept Ivan in during the first few times he ended up in the bottom three, but he really showed how much he could learn at least. So far, Cedric (sp?) has been a disappointment and I much rather would have seen Jimmy. At least Nigel made it clear that if he ends up in the bottom three again, he's history.

Soooooooo, even on my birthday last night, I was forced to keep flipping back to the Cup of America games during SYTYCD. Can you believe it? We really need to get TiVo!

Anyway, I missed some of the dances, but my favorites were Danny & Anya again. They continue to impress me. I also liked Sabra and her partner's Rumba. Hot Tamale Train!

What's really disappointing about keeping Cedric in (and I was SHOCKED), is that he's going to put his partner in the bottom three.

My guesses for this week on who will be gone:

Cedric and the woman in the hospital.

I feel bad for her, but if she's having heart trouble she shouldn't be dancing a day after being taken to the hospital. And Cedric... well the only reason I could see him staying is if the U.S. gives him a sympathy vote and keeps him out of the bottom three. And then they would end up losing a -good- dancer that actually deserves to stay.

Well, I hope she does ok.

Danny and Anya are my favorites. I really like Pasha as well, and i hope with him not having his partner lastnight didnt hurt him staying in. Cedric needs to be gone like last week......Jimmy got a raw deal IMO.

I thought Nigel made two strange comments last night. One was telling Hok that the bird-flower dance drew on his culture (#######?) and second congratulating all the guys for dancing like "men."

I think what he means for Hok is that the dance was quite oriental? I saw just a part of the dance and I felt like it's asian dance of some sort.. I'm trying to find if there's a video of the show last night.. i couldnt find any :crying:

I only started watching right before the Rumba, and they were amazing!

The Jazz routine was to an "Memoirs of a Geisha" soundtrack, but Hok is hardly Japanese.

I can understand the other comment on guys dancing like "Men"; I think it is because guys doing ballroom dancing often look feminine, over the top.... and some of these dances like the tango, samba and so on require a guy to look like the "stronger sex" ... like the coreographer told them, cat and mouse....

Not like the waltz for example where the guy is the gentleman. Does that make any sense?

Which one is Cedric again?

Naturalized! Yeah!

Hok is from Japan, although according to the website he grew up in Oxford and now lives in LA. I thought it was weird that Nigel would assume Hok identifies with Japanese culture. Who knows if he does?
