sheesh...I've been lurking over at the SYTYCD message board and you think it's nutty here??? People are actually saying Benji & Heidi shouldn't have done the Broadway number that was like a church revival because of their Christian faith... that it was disrespectul, blah, blah, blah...

And then there is another thread about the reasons so many women prefer Donyelle over Heidi, based on some theory that that the majority of the women on that message board are unattractive women who can relate to a less attractive woman, like Donyelle, whose not stick thin and "HOT" like Heidi, and that those same women hate Heidi cuz they are just jealous... OFFS!:lol:

MAN, those peeps take that show waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too seriously. Glad we have perspective here... :hehe::dance:

Anywhoo...it's good for a larf!

I'm still so ashamed about my love of this show...

eh, it's all just good fun...some entertainment, nothing to be ashamed.

I've read that board too and I think they are way too serious.. I love donyelle and Heidi just the same.. I migth like Donyelle a little more as i think Heidi got a better training and have some advantage but Donyelle is just great.. I think she's very sexy and beautiful. so.. is that mean i'm unattractive then? :(

Not by what I can tell... :D

I think all of the final women are beautiful, and in very different ways. I don't know WHAT that makes me...:lol:

Ahhh... finally, I'm able to sit and type away.

First off, yes I agree. Cat Deeley can be annoying. My mom laughs everytime I say, "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE" the way she yells it out.

I've never been to the message boards of SYTYCD, and after reading what you guys say about them, I don't think I would want to go. I watch the show because of the dancing, and I don't take things personally. So if certain people are only rooting for someone because they look like themselves, or they can relate to their body weight... well, they should watch a different competition. This is a dance competition!

Anyway here are my thoughts from last night's show:

Donyelle & Travis: They're definitely not well-matched as a pair. I agree with the judges that they don't have any chemistry. For their hip hop, they were dancing it as two solo dancers, not as a duet. Arms are not exactly the same, and their energy didn't match each others. Their quick step didn't do anything for me. It was a struggle for both of them. Travis' carriage wasn't right, and Donyelle's costume didn't flatter her. It was beautiful, but she would have been better off in something else. I so want to fire whoever dresses her up. This has always been a problem.

Allison & Ivan: I liked the tango. Ivan, for the first time, looked like he could partner someone, although he did lose his footing a couple of times. Allison did a fantastic job on this, I thought. For the hip-hop routine, they weren't approaching the dance as one unit. Ivan looked good, and I was pleasantly surprised with Allison. She did well, and I thought the performance came from within. I thought the piece was clever and that it suited them.

Ryan & Natalie: Disco - she looked a bit too muscular for him. The small height difference didn't help. Natalie carried the routine, and I agreed with the judges... they had no chemistry. Their contemporary was much better. It was the first time I saw Ryan's potential. I thought it was a sincere performance from both of them.

Heidi and Benji: The broadway routine was definitely fun. And for awhile, I forgot it was a competition. It looked like they've been doing this routine for months on braodway. I agree with the judges; they looked professional. The mambo... wow! Fantastic choreography and dancing. They danced like they're one. Benji is an amazing partner. This is one dance I'd like to see again.

Based on last night's performance, the weakest dancers were Travis, Ryan and Donyelle.

But who I think needs to go right now are Ryan and Ivan. For the girls, it's a tough choice. It's going to be really interesting tonight.

Edit: Was just re-reading Frances' take on the show last night, and I realize I agree with a lot of the things she said. Except for the part about maybe Allison leaving tonight. ;)

Hi all!

I've still been watching the show, even though I haven't posted on the thread for a while....

I agree with much of what Cygnet said regarding the performances last night.

I think my opinion of Donyelle has gone a bit downhill. (I swear I'm not saying that just so you all won't think I'm ugly!) I just don't think she's at the same level as the others in terms of cleanness. For the girls, I'd have to say Heidi and Allison are the better. Natalie's theatrics get on my nerves.

For the guys, I agree Ryan and Ivan need to go. It's a tough call for me between Travis and Benji, but I'm gonna say that Benji will go all the way to the end!

I don't know if I can handle Mary Murphy anymore. She's worse than Fran Drescher!

Well.. I think Donyelle might be in trouble tonight. the mask thing for hip hop for me i think it's very interesting and it was fun!! but there would be people who think like the judges. Too bad for Donyelle.. if she get the hip hop like Alison or contemporary like Natali then i'm sure she'd be better than them. (I still love her from the audition.. the first time i saw her dance i just completely her fan.)

I gotta see tonight.. last night i coulnt vote (always busy for Donyelle) so tonight if she's in trouble i'd be there voting for her!!

I don't know if I can handle Mary Murphy anymore. She's worse than Fran Drescher!

I know.. I think she's worse than.. hm.. who's that on American Idal? Paula Abdul!! I cant stand her voice!!!

Oh, I don't think Allison is leaving...I just wouldn't mind...and maybe that's unfair because she's danced so much with Ivan and he gets on my nerves so I'm probably thinking of the pair, not the individual dancers... *shrug* It very well could be Donyelle's time though... :( Crossing fingers that she still has a strong fan base and that we can see her dance one more week.

I think my opinion of Donyelle has gone a bit downhill. (I swear I'm not saying that just so you all won't think I'm ugly!)

Another great review by both Cygnet and Frances.

As for the Disco routine, I definitely agree with the judges. I thought it was boreing, with absolutely no chemistry.

I have to agree with some of the comments about Donyelle. I really like her, and I loved her with Benji, but Benji was definitely the strength of that partnership. I haven't wanted to say it, but it is the truth, and Donyelle is a little bit on the heavy side, which puts her at a disadvantage with the other girls. She is a good dancer, but not a great dancer, and the other girls are definitely better than her. Regardless of if she still has a foot injury, the other girls left are still better.

Will be interesting to see what happens tonight! :D
