Hello,

If the K3 visa interview is scheduled and one goes ahead with the interview while CR1 is also approved, gets the visa stamped on the passport, does that automatically eliminates the CR1 process or can one continue with that too when the interview is scheduled??

Or should we just inform the consulate for the K3 visa that we are not interested and wish to continue with the CR1?

I've read and heard about people doing this, but I've also heard about people who try to use the K-3 interview count for the CR-1 interview and it backfires. I would do some more research and ask the Embassy directly to see what they say.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

If you already went through the NVC process, paid all the fees and all documents were approved and completed, then try to call the embassy to see if they can change your K3 appointment for a CR1. If not (which I doubt they'll deny changing it), just change the interview for the K3 for a much later date while the NVC schedules you a new one for the CR1.

If you just started the process at the NVC, then change the date of the K3 with the embassy to make time while the NVC completes your case for the CR1 visa. The important thing is that all fees have been paid and all forms have been approved by the NVC before the interview.
