Hi All,

First of all thank you for taking time to read this, your help in any way will be greatly appreciated.

I filed I-130 for my wife in December, and received 1-797C Notice Of Action in Jan 2009. Its currently in California Service Center.

Now I was going to file I-129F K3 Visa, however in the checklist guide on this website it states that among other things, I need the following:

3. Copy of I-130 Transfer Notice (indicating where your underlying I-130 petition was routed to after it was filed at the appropriate Chicago Lockbox).

10. Copy of the NOA1 from the I-130

I only received one I-797C, Notice of Action, which just tells me that my application has been received and is pending in the California Service Center.

Its a month now, and I haven't received anything else from them. So do I have to wait for them to send me something else in the mail or can I simply use a copy of the NOA that I received and that should be sufficient.

Please clarify the difference between the two documents. I don't know what I-130 Transfer Notice is.

Thanks,

LR

just make a copy of the noa1 and send it in with your 129f packet. :) You just need the NOA, showing that they have received the 130

the noa shows it was "transferred/sent" to CSC. the documents are one in the same in your case.

good luck!

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Thanks, I have had the packet ready for last the two weeks. Will file it tomorrow.

I have already filed the I-130. According to CA Service Center website, it takes 6 months for both as of now, so it may not matter if I do file I-129F. However, since currently it does not cost anything extra and I already have the packet ready, I can simply file it and proceed with whichever comes first. Have nothing to loose.

Thanks.
