Here in L.A., we have a lot of variation. I think the Mexican, El Salvadorian, and Thai food is second to none.

Mexican - Campos Tacos or Casa Sanchez (LINK)

Italian - C&O Cucina is great. They have two restaurants, one is almost on the beach and in the summer they pull back the roof so you can dine under the stars (LINK)

Burgers - As has been reported, In-N-Out is absoultely incredible. There burgers are fresh, and never frozen. Your fries are a potato until you actually order it. The best thing is that they have a hidden menu. There are dozens of things you can order that aren't on the menu, but they know what it is. Ask for a Flying Dutchman Animal Style. The most decadent burgers, and my favorite are Tommy's Chili Burgers (LINK). There are a lot of copycat Tommy's throughout the city, and each one has their own flair. I found one that serves a double bacon, chili cheeseburger with pastrami on it. No, I didn't order it, it was just too much sodium and fat. I would have ordered it before I ment Mel though

Thai Food - Natalee Thai is really good place, but they are always crowded. So I get their take out every once in a while. (LINK)

Prime Rib - I absolutely love Lawry's (LINK) and The Stinking Rose (LINK). They both specialize in Prime rib, but their steaks are exceptional. Lawry's is very traditional food, and very good. Only place I can say that had as good or better prime rib was The Keg in London, Ontario (LINK).The Stinking Rose specializes in garlic based cuisine. If you think portions are big at normal restaurants....... then this place is even bigger.

Steakhouse - The best steakhouse i've ever been to in the world, hands down is Mortons (LINK). It's quite pricey though, and i've only been once.

I had an friend who worked at Olive Garden. She worked there as a second job and would bring us food when she would come from there to her other job that I was her manager at. She would bring us food, but would never eat it herself. She always referred to it as "Italian McDonalds". I've been there a couple of times. Not impressed. For a "chain style" Italian, I prefer Buca di Beppo (LINK)

God I love food to much

we always get the blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese.. mmmm so good..

Thats my one Tim Hortons constant...I always get that. It is so good!

I'm wondering, those who said PF Changs, do you guys have Pei Wei as well? Definitely one of my favourites. Also Mongolian Barbecue. Ruby Tuesdays, I love the Salad Bar! And for fast food, there's one in Toronto now, Chipotle tops it :)

As far as Olive Garden goes, its owned by Darden, the same company as Red Lobster ( I worked at RL for 2 years) We were told there that all the Olive Gardens in Ontario and most of the ones in the rest of Canada were closing down.

In Sarasota we love Mattisons, Bonefish Grill, and Simon's kicks ####! http://www.simonstogo.com/ Seafood is our absolute fave and we both follow a pretty healthy diet (but not all the time - Bonefish Grill makes wicked margaritas, and we indulge in beer and of course ice cream; Edy's coconut!) and eat quite a bit of food. We also get a lot of our extras and supps from Whole Foods downtown.
