Okay so here is the deal, we got our NOA2 but now I am more than impatient/nervous than EVER! I am so ready to see him, but I am broke, well I actually have money to go back. Should I wait or go back? Few months left.....wait or go?

personal choice based on many facts and circumstances... only you can decide

Remember AOS costs $1010, so no one knows better than you if it would be better to wait and save $$$ or go even though it will be a few months until you see each other.

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

I agree with this statement. If you can afford the AOS later, AND a trip...well...why not go over when your sweetie has the interview. You may or may not be able to be at the actual interview itself, but it would be great if you were able too. Then fly back together. That is of course, POE is not long after receiving the visa.

Tim is going to be up here with me for the interview, ( he'll be able to attend with me) and then we'll fly back together. I have a house to sell, and will be praying like mad that it happens before moving, so that's going to help with all the extra costs...wedding, AOS...etc.

Only you can decide what's best, but I still think it would be romantic to be able to come back together!.....best wishes!!

I was wondering about this. How can he book his flight without knowing how long it will take between your interview and receiving Visa?

My fiance asked me (when I left him in Jamaica this afternoon to return home :( ) if I can fly with him to the US, since he's never flown before. But I planned to be there for the interview and wouldn't be able to go back a few weeks later. Hmm. Think I'll post this in the Jamaica forum.

I would imagine that each Embassy will have it's own timeline as to when you get the actual visa. I'll know at least a month in advance when my interview is, giving Tim plenty of time to arrange travel. Also, because my interview will take place in Vancouver, B.C., I'll have the visa the next day, pending approval of course. Depending on a few things here, we'll be able to determine when the POE will be, but I'm hoping within a week after receiving the visa.

Personally, if I had my noa2, i would wait. i am going to visit my SO next month bcos we dont have our noa2 n i have no idea how much longer we will wait...could be several more months or more. thats just me tho. its more sensible economically to wait...unless u really can afford it n all the following expenses, like the wedding. best wishes!

If you've only made one trip so far I'd recommend doing a second one to add to you guys having a bona fide relationship. Who knows you may not have to worry about paying to adjust status if you can't show good proof of a bonafide relationship. Take care of one thing at a time!

If you've got more than enough $ for the flight, AOS and wedding, then go for it! Otherwise just hang in there and save for when your fiance arrives, you've got this far & not too much longer to go :star:

Personal, I would wait ... from the time we got our NOA2 notification to the time I received my Pk3 was only 22 days ... Shays spent the last 3-4 days running around getting all the papers Ill need to submit with my Statement of Readiness...

Use this time gathering all the info you need and finding out exactly what you need to do .. for example I thought getting my police check would be a breeze ... I had to go back 3 times because they no longer do wet prints and they didnt have the stuff they needed to do it .... even when they finally had everything they needed I had a 3 hour wait ...

From this point everything starts moving along really quickly ... your head will start spinning and youll wish you had a few moments to take a breath...

gethere,

You shouldn't worry about the # and length of your trips. Just to clarify a nitpicky point, visiting does not = proof of bonafide relationship. You need to provide photos, letter, e-mails etc for that. Every case is different I had the same # and duration of trips when we did the K1 and we didn't have any issues.

My advice is to seriously look at your finances and then decide. AOS is expensive. And so is the time your SO will be here, unemployed waiting on a work permit/green card. I had never been married before, so I was surprised by how much the grocery bill changed and other things like getting another cell phone. Just look at the big picture and do what is best for you.
