Actaully there are two questions in this post and I hope you guys can help me with.

Me and my wife filed I-751 and the check was cashed on 01/05/2009. It has been more than a month (today is 02/08/2009) but we have not hear anything from the USCIS by mail. My green card will expired on 2/13/2009. Do I need to go make an appointment at a local office (Infolink) to apply for an work extension while I am still waiting for the mail, and stop working for my company?

Here is the second question:

On 1/6/2009 an unknown lady knocked my door at home at 9pm asking if i live here (we still don't know who she was but she was talking to my step son. she had not exposed her ID, nothing). Then my step son was afraid so he said "No, he does not live there" Of course I was on the road. we were afraid that she could be CIS. But could they be that fast? They cashed my check on 1/6 and 1/7 someone knocked my door. I do have debt on credit card company so we were guessing that might be the reason.

I worked and lived with my wife for 9 months until I quit my Sam's Club job and drive a semi truck (it has been 8 months). I have been visiting home every 2 weeks (I have all the records on my credit card and bills) and the house is in her name all time because of rate change and stuff. Economy is very bad and that is the reason why I decided to quit my $9 job at Walmart and drive a big rig. Any input would be appreciated.

Now, we have debt to pay, house is being foreclosing, and I need to make sure that I can still work without breaking the law. It is fine I dont eat well but I have kids to feed and it is getting tough for us.

I was thinking to call local office tomorrow... damn i am not very far from there... but thanks it is a relief at this point. but I was still wondering why I have not received the NOA yet.

I really have nothing to worry except I don't want to lose my income and find the lawyer again... I am only making 400 a week these time and I can't afford to pay thousand for lawyer service. That lady sure worried us.

thank you sir
