Our story thus far is as follows; My wife arrived in the US from Brazil in August on a 6 month tourist visa which expires mid February 09. We were married in November, and sent in the following documents in

December: I-130,I-485,I-765,I-864,g325a. A few weeks later we received a notice of rejection due to the documents being filled out incorrectly. I made the correction and resent the forms January 4th.

About a week ago we received a notice that our forms were accepted. A few days ago we received another notice entitled 'Request for Initial Evidence (I-485)". Basically the form requests that myself and the join sponsor supply tax documents, evidence of income and proof of the joint sponsors citizenship. Of course all of this was provided in the initial application I sent. Can anyone tell me why they are asking for this information? Is this common? Did they lose the documents? Should I just resend what was already in the original package I sent? Or do I need to send the tax info for 2008, which I have not filled for?

Thanks for any help......
