Finding a job? Difficult/easy?

Dave lost his job in September.

It's been really hard to find another, but we filed anyway. He is a highly skilled carpenter, but as it is, there is just no work for him now.

So he has been sucking it up, swallowing his pride and doing what he has to do to pay the bills.

He'd flip burgers at Wendy's and have his father co-sponsor us to get me there. I have a good job here, so we could have done it the other way BUT....in this time of economic uncertainty I think a lot of the time you just need to take some chances. My job is about as safe as anyone else's. We look forward to being poor....but together

I know about Software. My ex was a software engineer. He was never out of work but constantly stayed up late learning new languages to keep ahead of the game.

It's hard out there. Your fiance may have to consider taking a lesser job and keeping his programming skills active during is own time. Temp positions like the previous poster mentioned. Anything to just keep going.

I'd file. You never know what's going to happen.
