My IV stuff (DS-3032 already e-mailed to NVC). Will mail this once IV fee bill is generated and paid....

IV Package (DS-230):

- Cover letter by petitioner/beneficiary

- DS-230, part I signed, part II unsigned

- Passport, photocopy

- Birth certificate, certified copy

- Marriage certificate, certified copy with certified, qualified translation

- NBI clearance

- Police clearance, Philippines

- Police clearance, Thailand

- Two 2x2 photos

- Supporting docs:

- Baptismal certificate, original

- Affidavit by beneficiary's mother regarding the mother's birthplace

According to the NVC Shortcut Guide:

"Photocopy Requirement - In addition to sending the original documents or certified copies of the documents to the NVC, the applicant and each accompanying family member must submit a photocopy of the original documents or certified copies of the documents."

So I'll make photocopies of the entire package. What's this for? Doesn't NVC have its own Xerox machine? Or maybe a Lexmark? :D

we are at the same step as you and i was wondering why they need original and photocopy but i guess ours is not to wonder why ours is to do or receive an RFE hehehe! I made the copies as well. Praying for no RFE's. We sent the email as well but no response yet. And the AVR doesn't show 3032 being generated yet. I'll try for a live operator Monday.

Hi. Do we all need to submit the supporting docs? I mean, the baptismal certificate, is it a requirement? What if I am no longer a Catholic? Should I still provide them with it? Any idea? And the affidavit, does it mean my mother should make an affidavit where she was born? I'm sorry ut this is the first time I learned that these are included in the package. Thanks in advance for your reply, and sorry that I don't have answer for your questions.

No. That's just an issue peculiar to my case. There's an inconsistency regarding her birthplace, that's all. NVC operator told me don't worry about it. But I want to be sure. Of course Baptismal isn't required. :) However if there are any errors or gray areas in the paperwork, it's a good idea to include supporting docs that essentially "back up" what you want to say. Don't worry!

Uh, okay, for a while that made me feel nervous as I have no idea where to get them. Thanks!
