If we are told that our sponsors do not have enough income to support us and we are advised to have a joint sponsor then would that joint sponsor have to pa affidavit of support processing fee??

our case is at US embassy in islamabad, pakistan.

they said they will issue visas only when they will recieve I-864 from a joint sponsor

does the joint sponsor have to pay the I-864 processing fee??

or does it need processing from the nvc or we can send it directly to the embassy after obtaining from the joint sponsor?

please help

In my case I called NVC and asked them if there was any more fees required for the joint-sponsor's affadavit and they said, "No".

My affadavit and the joint-sponsor's were mailed at the same time because we knew that we would need one.

the joint sponsor "DOES NOT" have to pay the processing fee again. all you have to do is have a joint sponsor here in the US fill the form and mail it in to NVC. for more information i'll give you NVC's direct number along with extension. 603-334-0700 extension# 1 then ext# 5. talk to a representative and ask them directly to clarify this question even more. they are very helpful.

Most other embassies have a special courier which is the only way to deliver documents to them. In Jordan the courier is Aramex. I don't know which courier it is for Pakistan, can't you email the embassy, or call to find out what method they prefer to have documents taken to them. You might have to mail the document directly to the beneficiary and he/she will have to take it to the embassy.

And yes you do NOT have to pay the fee twice.

Good Luck,

Mariah
