It's in the OP's post, well a link is. It's tiny, but you get the idea of why the pose is a little OTT to say the least.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

That doesn't look too threatening to me. At worst, it's nothing you wouldn't see on a movie poster.

Unless this teacher was abusing her position and teaching "Firearms 101", this isn't an issue for school administrators or parents to get upset over.

the teacher's position was inappropriate. she was pointing a gun at the person holding the camera. irresponsible gun handling.

the camera could have had a timer set ... for a self portrait

without regard to the mechanism, the effect is that the woman is pointing the gun at any person who looks at the pic.

this is an irresponsible gesture on her part. it conveys either aggression, or a complete lack of understanding in regard to the seriousness of firearms ownership and use. in short, it makes her look like all of the other idiots who buy a firearm without first learning how to use one.

speaking as a guy who has from time to time looked down the wrong end of the barrel of a gun in real life, and had to make decisions about what to do in each particular circumstance, i have little tolerance for such behaviour.

You must enjoy watching Disney movies ... cause many other movies display even worse use of firearms. Hollywood firearm usage in most movies/shows is nothing short of pure fiction b.s. and even worse than this picture. Not saying the picture is right or wrong ... only asking where is your outrage against an entire industry that is making firearm owners into villains (while doing it for profit).

Oh I don't know eh... Google up some recent shooters out there in crazy land and they look quite average...

Betsy needs a makeover. More along the lines of Lara Croft. Otherwise it's just lame.

Sister Len you are wise beyond your peaceful aura.

Betsy as Lara Croft on facebook. Why didn't she think of that?

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

While that's true, there's nothing to indicate that this woman is either crazy or planning to shoot someone else. Posing with a weapon doesn't mean you'll use it. Otherwise I'd have sliced and diced a whole lot of people with my sword collection. :P

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Yep.

Yet she should have made her profile pic invisible to the general public so she could revise who is looking at it. Silly her to make that setting public and not private. Guns + school = controversial any way you slice it.

That's true. It's a shame that your private life seems to spill over so easily into your professional one.

Totally sucks... but that's life when you work with the public.

The dude has a point. We don't exactly know what the objection was to the picture or even if it was just the picture that was the problem. Often in these cases it turns out the journalistic 'hook' has little to do with the real issues anyway. Still, this new issue of what was it, librul puritanism has got some right wing knickers in a wad :)

That's kind of what makes me wonder if there's more to the story - something she did or comments she'd made.

I suspect we won't find out

My thoughts exactly.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .
