Is my TV digital TV?

I bought my Television about 10 years ago. Is there a website where I can type in the model number and find out if mine receives Digital transmission or not?

I can't find my owner's manual..otherwise I could look it up

probably not digital compliant but you ought to be able to look on the back of the TV for the model number.. usually a label of somesort

10 year old television? probably not digital unless it was a high(er) end model. Try the manufacturer's website for Support/Manual. (As stated, model number will be on the back of the television.)

Curious why you ask? Is this an American TV? Do you ask because of the changeover to digital transmissions?

I have the model number. Its a GE TV but am unable to find a website where I can cross check if its capable of receiving digital transmission..

I'm not familiar of any TV in the USA 10 years ago that was digital.

-Are you able to scan for channels?

-When changing channels, does it say the channel number? Analog signals will do in the format such as: 2, 13, 30, 45, etc while digital signals will have like 2.1, 13.1, 13.2, 13.3, 13.4, 30.1, 45.1.

-On stations that get poor reception, does it have a "snowy effect" or does the screen freeze and get all blocky and stop the sound?

-Is there a coaxial connection on the back that says "digital"?

-Is there a "DTV" sticker on the front of the TV? (If yes, then your TV is digital; if not, it depends)

If you get one of those boxes, then your old TV can receive digital via the box. Sign up for a govt voucher to help pay for the box.
