Hi to everyone.

I'm a new registrant of this forum.

I'm Italian and I'm married with an American woman. I live in NY with her and we've received the first response from Immigration of Chicago for our I-130.

Now we have an appointment for this month in the Bronx for the biometrical. I guess after the biometrical I will receive a letter to do the medical exams, am I right?

My question is... how many time I have to wait before I can work in the US?

Thank you.

Have a nice weekend.

Thank you for getting back to me.

So after the biometric have I to do by my self the medical exams? And which exams? They will give to me a list or something?

However if the I-765 application is that thing about the sponsor, yes I've already sent it.

Thanks

Let's start all over again so as to make sure the answers are correct..

What exactly is your current status...

What exactly have you applied for...

The I-765 is not the sponsor thingy but the application for employment authorization

YMMV

Ok, thank you for helping me.

I'm married with an american woman (we got married in the US but after our marriage we lived in Italy).

I came in the US with a touristic visa but before my visa was expired my wife sent to Immigration Office of Chicago the I-130

Few days ago (after almost 20 days) we've received 3 letters from the Immigration. One letter says a date and a place to go for the biometrics, the other two letters says that the Immigration took 2 our checks (for the procedure).

I am applied for the residence (green card).

However, everything looks and I am just afraid to know when I could work in the US (with the regular work permit)

I guess these following are the steps:

- to send the I-130 to Chicago

- to go to the Office for the biometrics

- to go for the medical exams ??? (Where? When? And which exams?)

- to wait for US work permit (How many time?) Are they send it to my address?

- to wait for SSN (How many time?) Are they send it to my address?

After these steps it should be an interview.

Thanks

Did you include the I-485 for Adjustment of Status application, and the I-765 for application for Employment Authorization? If you did not include those forms, then you need to get those in as soon as possible. If you did send it, then it will be sent to you after you do the biometrics, within a few weeks.

You must schedule your medical exam yourself, USCIS is not going to schedule it for you. Google "civil surgeons" for your city and find a physician near you who is authorized to do the immigration exams.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

Yes, I included the I-485 but I don't remember if I also include the I-765. I have to check that.

Thanks for the other informations. I'll search for "civil surgeons".

Have a nice sunday!

So, after the biometrics how many time I have to wait before to take the work permit?

Thanks

And... I'm so sorry but I can't understand the medical exam step!

Which exams I have to do? And can I do them (for example) the day after the biometrics?

I've found a civil surgeons list by USCIS.

Thanks
