Is there anyone out there that has figured out how this USCIS VSC vs CSC, and the transferred CSC vs. originally at CSC thing is working? I really have a hard time understanding why people that received NOA1 in October / November that were transferred over from VSC are getting approvals at CSC in January / February. Meanwhile there are people that have been at CSC with NOA1 from June, July, August, September, October and November that sit waiting for a touch.

It does not affect me (yet) because I am a late November/early December CR-1/K-3 filer) but if I were the others I would be confused and very sad :bonk:

I was happy when I was assigned to CSC originally, but now it seems to be a big disadvantage.

Has anyone tried to get an answer on this from CSC?

Wow, I didn't think anyone would start this post. I am one of the October filers waiting for NOA2 and it is frustrating to see all the VSC transfers being bumped to the front of the line at CSC. I am happy for them cuz I know everyone here is waiting for the same thing, but it does also seem a little unfair that they are processing them in that order. I know there will be an end to all of this soon, but the waiting really sucks. Hopefully they will go back to processing the original CSC file again soon. I'm getting so anxious.

I have wondered the same thing, actually. Don't get me wrong, I'm so happy for everyone who has gotten theirs, but it's frustrating that my husband and I have been waiting for so long, and others who have just been transferred over are getting their approvals. We are early November filers, and haven't even been touched.

This whole process is frustrating and getting me down! I wish they would at least lie to me and tell me that they have touched our file. It would make me feel a whole lot better. :)

We waited nearly 8 months for our NOA2 and we never had a single touch. Don't assume that you always need a touch before something happens to your file... you could go the entire time without one and then get your approval!

hehe...I know this. Sometimes it just feel like nothing at all is happening and I get frustrated. And I guess, it really hasn't been THAT long. I am trying to work on being more patient.

Huh. That does sound wrong. I was under the impression that getting one's case assigned to CSC from the start means it'll be faster. I also read they handle cases on a "first come, first serve" basis.

Maybe VSC cases have been largely processed by VSC so once the CSC folks see them, they expedite them since there's less work to do?

I think the "touch" is like the AVR in NVC - sometimes it updates, sometimes it doesn't.

There could also be other reasons why June-July NOA1s are still pending. Could be CSC takes longer with its own background checks, etc.? I don't know. Maybe talking to a USCIS person would reveal something. I feel bad for these people now. :(

I do understand how you feel about this and I'm very sorry for that. I myself cannot understand how they process our cases but I have expected something like this at the beginning. If you look at the graphs of VSC and CSC showing the duration of time between NOA1 to NOA2, (right side of the page when you clic the imigration timelines) you will notice that there has been a pattern. VSC speeds up from Jan. to March, while CSC slows down during this time while CSC is fastest around September while VSC really slows down. I am thinking that probably, VSC catches up on the first quarter of the year because they have dumped a lot of their untouched cases to the CSC and this what slows down CSC. It is really unfair that these fortunate people, including me, went approved ahead of those who originally filed earlier at the CSC. Again, I am really sorry. But, I noticed, too that VSC filers of Dec. 2008 got approved earlier in January than we Sept. VSC filers did! so, it is unfair for us, too. Well, maybe that is what they mean when they say no case is the same. I really don't know. I hope you guys get approved soon, too. Please keep your hopes up! It's coming soon!

I see nothing's changed in the past year. I remember feeling the same way a year ago. It's just the nature of the game, I guess. I know this doesn't make anyone feel better when you're on the wrong side of approval, but it will come eventually, and then you'll pretty quickly forget all about those lucky VSC people who, through no fault of their own, butted in front of you in line.

I can understand the frustration. And I wonder if this is going to happen too when we file next year. But the way I see it... its nice to see its not taking as long as it used to several years ago, to get approved! Just try to see the positive :)

I said the exact same thing a few weeks ago. It's great to see people getting approved from the VSC that have been waiting so long but how can you call it first come first serve when VSC are waiting 30 days?

I can also understand the frustrations with not getting any touches. 2 months and nothing. Give me something to know it's getting processed. 2 months and nothing is just killing me. I was told that because I work at the airport and have already cleared an FBI background check that I will probably have quick and easy file check.

PLEASE CSC PLEASE give me some hope.

Another thing. I think it's messing with the Time lines.
