I-797C... extends status for one year- from when?

There is probably an obvious answer to this but the I-797C I have says

"Your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year..."

But is that one year starting from the notice date of the letter, or one year from the expiration date of the green card?

The NOA extends the status of your green card one year from the expiry date on your green card. You carry the green card and the NOA letter together and together they form the document that validates your legal status in the US. For example, if your green card expires February 26, 2009, then your NOA letter extends your status to February 26, 2010.
