Already e-mailed the DS-3032. Waiting for the bill with the IIN to arrive in US address. We are ready EXCEPT for:

- What return address to use for DS-3032 (snail mail), AOS package, and IV package. Pretty sure we'll use Petitioner's address for AOS; but do DS-3032 and IV package have to be sent with Beneficiary's return address on it?

- Police clearances (on the way)

- Military discharge/medical records

The last one is the big problem now. He doesn't pay taxes; he has a disability pension. But all we have to show that are a VA letter showing his pension raise this year (on the way by mail) and bank account statements. Would that suffice? Or are we going to need a VA letter specifically explaining he doesn't need to pay taxes? Will he need to show DD-214, medical board, discharge, etc.?

Personally, I'd rather we just get on with it, show bank account statements (with the Acct# blotted out if permissible?) and that VA letter for this year. If we get the VA stuff later then we just send them as a follow up. I don't want to wait forever when this is such a crucial time. But my husband wants to hunt after those elusive VA records. I'm losing my temper but I'm trying to get a hold of it. This is really the only thing holding us back now.

Also have additional questions about the NVC Guide:

From the NVC Guide:

"All documents that pertain to the applicant’s petition are required, even if they were previously submitted to the CIS with the applicant’s petition."

Does this mean we should send photocopies of all the documents in the I-130 package? Do we need to send another set of photos like we provided for our G-325a forms?

Why would they need another copy when the USCIS already sent them the package?

"Photocopy Requirement - In addition to sending the original documents or certified copies of the documents to the NVC, the applicant and each accompanying family member must submit a photocopy of the original documents or certified copies of the documents."

Photocopies of the whole IV package?

"Four (4) Passport size photos (2in.x2in.) (5x5 cm) from beneficiary

2 photos to accompany the DS-230

2 photos to accompany the medical "

Even though I won't go to the medical exam yet, do I send four pics anyway? Do I get that back and use them for the medical?

I don't think that the return address really mattters for the DS-3032 . All they care about is who is designated as the agent and their address.

Can't help with the tax issue.

For the DS-230:

What they are saying is that even if you submitted your marriage certificate, for example, with your I-130 you are still required to send it with the DS-230 package.

Yes, you will need to submit 2 passport photos with your NVC case#, full name and DOB written lightly in pencil on the back.

The photocopies they refer to are copies of the required documents for the DS-230 application. So you will have the originals of your marriage certificate, birth certificate etc. and photocopies of these as well.

Hope this helps. Good luck

Thanks, OBX. My God, how many copies of these do they expect us to have? We have only 2 marriage certificates. And I sure can't send them the only copy I have (original) of our apartment lease here in Bangkok. I guess now we'll have to send the original BC of my husband along with me.

What about divoce decree, pictures and other stuff relating to the petitioner's G-325a and I-130 stuff? Surely they won't require us to send the originals of those. And we have no other copies ave photocopies.

*scratch* *sigh* *grrr*

You don't need to send any evidence of your relationship - save that for the interview. The DS230 relates only to the applicant (beneficiary). If your husband is the USC you do not need his birth certificate or divorce decree - just yours.
