He called me at work and I was like, "So honey, anything new today?" He's like, "No. Nothing at all. I didn't even leave the house today." I was like, "What's today's date?" He goes, "February 8?" I said, "Nooooo...it's not February 8th honey." He says, "Dear, I have no idea. My calendar is still on January." I said, "Well honey, flip the page and look at the date." He's like, "Okay." Then he says nothing...I'm like, "Honey, isn't today a special day?" He's like, "I don't know...it's not Valentine's day...?" I said, "No, not Valentine's day. Don't you have anything you want to say?" He says, "I love you." I start to laugh. He's like, "What? Tell me." I'm like, "Honey...today is our civil marriage anniversary." He's like, "Oh... congratulations." At this point I'm laughing and just shaking my head. Then he says, "But this one isn't important, our religious wedding is. I remember that one! (and says the date)." He's going to get us put into AP It's funny now...it's not gonna be funny if it happens for real. I need to tell him what dates he should remember!!! Of course, he's like my father...like many foreign men, who don't put emphasis on holidays, anniversaries, birthdays, etc...

YEah my husband is bad with dates gets my birth year confused and doesn't remeber engagement date

the civil & church he remembers they are exactly 6 months apart

How is someone supose to handle & deal with Translation: "The Communication is Poisoned"

I am trying to explain this to someone, her (she is crying) boyfriend told her this yesterday (she is still crying with me)

She asked me how can i do it with my husband not being with me, she will go nuts.

Wow...what can you say though? Even if you tell your friend the truth, big chance she won't listen.

I have a friend whose husband (in my everyone's opinion) has been using her for the greencard. He now got his 10 year greencard. He was deported and we all thought "good riddance" but my friend wouldn't listen to anyone. He's done some terrible, rotten, things to her and her daughter. Not to mention he admitted to marrying another woman before her in order to get a greencard. That women ended up divorcing him though (smart lady). What does she do? Petition and appeal to bring him back. He's supposed to be here in a few days. All this time we have all told her to leave him in India. We told her to move on. We reminded her of all the terrible things he did. She didn't want to listen. She even got mad at me because I was not happy for her when she told me he got his greencard and is coming back. When she asked him if he was using her for the greencard his answer was, "Yes, my love for you is green." I mean...how much more obvious can it be??? Meanwhile, they're letting him come back! USCIS uses man hours to process trash like him and others like us, have to wait in line behind trash like that. My advice would be to just slowly move away from friends like that...when she wakes up and realizes things on her own, then be there for her.

On the flip side...communication can be a little bit poisoning to a relationship, but it doesn't necessarily mean death. There are times when my husband says things and I get upset and say, "What do you mean xxxx...???!!!" Then he'll try to explain and I'm like, "Oh, okay...well when you say it that way, it sounds offensive." Sometimes things don't translate well from one language to another. Could it be that she misunderstood?

i think i have to go clean up the back yard...the ice storm slaughtered our pine tree and there are limbs everywhere. The big ones are removed, but now the little guys need to be piled up. fun fun fun lol

As for green cards situation not an issue both Aruba Citizens

And language barrier is not one

except for MEN! and WOMAN!

She is calmer now

but she still wants to make it work with him
