Hello everyone, anybody here that using a WaMu Bank? Is this an excellent bank? Just wanna know about how's their service. coz am planing to open a bank account with WaMu bank. place. your input is highly appreciated.

FYI - WaMu was the biggest U.S. bank to fail, and require billions from the Fed. Gov't. to bail it out. It's not the only one, but the biggest, bad one.

Wamu not so good. If you don't move around a lot you may want to look into getting a local credit union, they usually are a lot better than larger banks.

I am sure that there's a federal investigation going on re money laundering involving them.

Correct! We bank there. Free checking. No problems. Still in the process of being consolidated.

WaMu is now owned and operated by Chase.

We used to bank there, but as soon as they were bought by chase, we moved to a Credit Union.

I like dealing with my local banks, includes savings and loans, and credit unions, pay the highest interest on CD's anywhere, and let me go in their vaults so I can see and play with my money. All FDIC approved and have great financial statements.
