Awesome! Now I can update my timeline! I did think also, for those not fortunate enough to have access to the internet at home, all of this information and the forms would be a bit difficult to come by. I'm sure the Embassy would send them out if requested but it's just more time added to the process. Well, I guess this is the 21st century...

Lauren: "doesnt seem right does it? that we got to do all this bull**** paperwork and we get one little measley paper"

LOL! My thoughts exactly!

The op has packet 3 so they have all the information required they were just expecting a packet and not a few sheets of paper

I think they changed around the first of the year. They put more stuff on the internet to streamline the process probably. They used to mail a "packet" full of info you can read online, so I guess they are saving printing and mailing costs. Guess we will have to start calling in Letter 3.

Poor little copier girl must have lost her job.

Got packet 3 last week, I have filled in the forms in after having downloaded them and checking the example forms ( though now realise that ive made some small mistakes argghh). Anyway what I want to clarify is exactly what I need to do..

As I read the instructions, its seems I have to send the London embassy.

- One copy of the Ds-230 Part 1 ( signed)

- One copy of the Ds-156 (unsigned but with photos attached) - I made a two copies of the form ( do they both go? or do i retain one)

- One copy of the Ds-156K ( unsigned)

- One copy of the Ds-157

I keep a copy of each of these for myself.. then wait till all my stuff arrives e.g police cerificate, affidavit of support etc and then send in the checklist to say I am ready for the interview.

Thats how I understand it, but have read different accounts of how people completed it on VJ, so just wanted to check.

Thanks In advance

Yours confused.

no the DS156 is in duplicate and is not signed, you send both back, take the photos to the interview do not attach

DS-156K you sign this

DS-157K only to be completed if you are male 16-45 years old

keep copies of everything that you send in, and send back the check list once you have all the other documentation

All of this information is detailed in packet 3 that you received from the embassy

Good luck

I didn't sign the DS-156k as I didn't see any area to sign apart from where it said to be filled in with the embassy official (don't have my paperwork here so can't remember the exact wording) - /hits self on head. I thought I has triple checked everything - guess I should have quadruple checked it /duh

Ds-230 part 1 - sorted

Ds-156 x 2 - sorted

Ds-157 - sorted

Thanks for clarifying that, though still unsure about DS-156k as it does say not to write below the line on the form, as a consular official will assist in answering that part..

So to be clear. The forms that are suppose to be sent after packet 3 received are:

DS-156-not singed

DS156K-not singed

DS157 Only if u are a male ( singed or not singed???? )

DS-230 pasrt 1-to be singed

and 2 photos do this have to be mailed with the forms, or they have to be brought on the time of the interview?
