So Mariya had her green card approved on January 22! So she will be recieving her two year Green Card shorty  So the next step is to file for her ten year green card? Also when is a good time to do this? And when can she apply for citizenship? Also her parents will be retiring soon! We were talking about possibly petitioning for her parents to get a couple year green card? How is this done? Can she do it because she has a green card now? Should she wait until she gets her citizenship, would that make it easier? Since I am a citizen, can I petition for my wifes parents? Whats the best way to do this? Thanks in advance everyone! Your information and input is greatly appreciated!

Yes, no sooner than 90 days before the current (2-yr) PR/Green Card expires. Also when is a good time to do this? And when can she apply for citizenship? 3years after obtaining the PR status - assuming married to US citizen the entire time. Also her parents will be retiring soon! We were talking about possibly petitioning for her parents to get a couple year green card? How is this done? Can she do it because she has a green card now? Should she wait until she gets her citizenship, would that make it easier? Her being a citizen will certainly make it possible. Since I am a citizen, can I petition for my wifes parents? No Whats the best way to do this? Thanks in advance everyone! Your information and input is greatly appreciated!

Removing of conditions application window opens 90 days prior to the expiry of the card

Citizenship qualification is at the later date of 3 years marriage to a USC/3 years as permanent resident/3 year anniversary of current USC spouse becoming USC. In your case most likely will be the 3 years as LPR. Application window opens 90 days prior to the latest qualifying date.

She can petition for her parents only after she is a USC.... You cannot petition for in-laws

Could apply 10yr green card, 3 months before her CR expires.

Could apply Citizenship after 33months she had her Green card.

Better wait til she get citizenship then petition her parents.

No, u cant petition her parents.

The bad/sad news is that even after she becomes a citizen, it will be several years before they have a chance to get an immigrant visa. I think the wait, counting the three years to citizenship, is roughly 10 years.

Ok :) Thanks for the answers everyone! :) I know in my post i said they would be retiring soon but in reality it will not be for another ten years at least, they are both petroleum engineers! They already have visas to visit us this summer! I jsut wanted to get a general idea of when we would be able to do this!
