My SO is about to schedule his medical. He smokes hash. Is this something that will effect his medical report? Are they intrusive in this aspect of the medical ?

Let's hope so!! That's all we need in this country is another drug user! Thanks so much!!

Thank you for all the wonderful advice and good wishes ;)

LOL, I didn't say he was a drug addict by the way. He's an occasional hash smoker. I am sure there are many people that are occasional drinkers, does that make them alcoholics?! ;)

No need to keep this thread going, if this is the direction it's going to take!

Got a hook up?

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Without judging and to answer your question, yes and yes! Yes, they do test for drugs during the medical exam and the visa can be denied on the basis of a failed medical exam because of drug use.

Drugs that are illegal in the U.S. are tested for in the alien fiancé(e)’s body at the medical exam. Be aware that among a number of medical problems that can render the alien fiancé “inadmissible”, testing positive for a controlled substance can render the alien inadmissible for up to three (3) years.

Yes....they are intrusive in this aspect of the medical because drugs are illegal in the US.

He will be asked about drug use. Being what you call a "occasional drug user" [insert irony here] just doesn't fly. In case you didn't know, hash is an illegal substance - and drug abuse is grounds for inadmissibility.

Yes they will ask about drug use. They also take blood, some of which can be used for drug testing, though what is tested for sees to depend on the country, as well as the individual beneficiary.
