Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I would have followed up the email invitation with a phone call or talk to them directly. Emails tend to get lost once they are read and perhaps they meant to reply but Monday was too early for them to give you an answer. Some kind of follow up I think is necessary. :)

I disagree. It's a waste of time and totally inefficient to not only email people invites but to then have to follow up with everybody individually.

Then I would have given them a deadline to respond to the email by. Giving them until Thursday to respond was too open-ended, IMO. For example, our HR person will send us out emails for participating in an upcoming event and will ask us to reply no later than a certain date. :)

I use the telephone for making an appointment, you know that thing you talk into and goes ding ding when somebody wants to talk to you.

E-mail should be strictly reserved for SPAM and it not right to use it for sending messages, because that will interfere with the SPAM.

Yes it is. That's the whole point of scheduling meetings that way.

I've run into two coworkers in the last month, both in different parts of the company, who don't answer invites. I thought maybe the rules had changed and no one told me

There's one manager in my department who is notorious for this. Everyone's sitting in the conference room wondering if Sam is going to show up. We all get a good laugh about it, unless the meeting is useless without Sam there, in which case everyone gets kind of pissy.
