Christian Bale is embarrassed, miserable and regretful.

And sooooo sorry.

The actor, whose profanity-laced diatribe last year against an assistant director who walked into his line of sight during filming for "Terminator Salvation" surfaced this week, called a Los Angeles radio station Friday and went into full apology mode.

"It's been a miserable week for me," Bale told hosts Kevin Ryder and Gene "Bean" Baxter. "Listen, I know I have a potty mouth; everybody knows this now.

"The thing that I really want to stress is I have no confusion whatsoever. I was out of order beyond belief. I was way out of order. I acted like a punk. I regret that.

"There is nobody that has heard that tape that is hit harder by it than me. I make no excuses for it. It is inexcusable. I hope that that is absolutely clear."

Honestly, the only person Christian Bale needs to apologize to is Shane Hurlbut - the director of photography for the movie, which I'm sure he did. IMO, his experience in films far exceeds Hurlbut's and it was probably a difference of opinion over how a scene was being shot. Bale probably felt the attention would be bad publicity for the film and felt pressure to make a public apology.

I like Christian bale, but seriously.. Some perspective is needed here - he's in terminator 4! Its hardly the place for an Olivier style performance. What an asshat!

Sure, but I don't like the idea that something he said in a conversation between himself and the director of photography gets released to the public and made into a big deal. Nobody knows what transpired beforehand or even what it was about. In fact, isn't this the kind of tabloid story that you said you don't like to be bothered with?

From what I read, he apologised right after the scene and they have worked together loads of times on this film since then.

I *puffy heart* Christian Bale. And he'll do for the Terminator movies (still trying to forget T3) what he did for Batman.

while the bill O'Reilly clip would have been interesting on it's own,,,, when these two are put together Bills looks like a lesson in self control.

Seems like the huge difference was, while they were both pissed... Bales attack of another person

(and relentlessly) is what put him so over the top.

But as others have said, we don't know what when on before the tape got rolling.
