So is it better to send courier, will it be logged quicker?

Just spoke to DOS, and was told the same story again. Our case left the NVC on the 16th, London has it electronically but doesn't have the file yet. It can take two weeks, blahbitty blah.

*SIGH*

Between the Royal Mail taking 2 weeks to get things to the embassy, and the embassy taking two weeks to process every little thing we send them, it has me pretty frustrated and worried. We want so badly to send off the packet 3 forms and the checklist, as we have everything ready to go. But with all this paper jam going on at the embassy, we're afraid to do so before they issue the P3 letter, especially considering they don't "physically have" our case yet. (still not sure what that means)

Sorry. Just venting. When we got approved early October and made it through NVC unscathed, my hopes got back up again for a Christmas reunion. Now they're sinking fast. Still trying to be hopeful though. I just hate racing the clock like this.

K. pity party officially over. hee hee :P Thanks for reading.

Roughsweet, I totally understand how you feel. We have gone 100 miles an hour getting everything done as fast as we can and with the mail delays...so frustrating. Also, I just tried to call the DOS to check on any status and there is a recording saying that their offices are closed??? I understand your concerns...if it were me, I might just go ahead and send it. Make copies of everything and worse case scenerio, you send it again. With the delays in the mail, etc...it might time out just right...and since you are registered in their system, it may not be a problem at all...

Thanks, gmj, for responding, and understanding. :) I just may talk to my fiance about doing that. Not sure he'll take the risk, but we'll see.

Also, I remember the recording at the DOS saying they close for one hour on Wednesdays. It was either 10-11 or 11-12am EST. Try back in an hour.

Thanks again. What would I do without all of you VJers? :star:

Roughsweet...thanks for letting me know that. I was just thinking that it was really weird and there may have been a holiday I had missed. hehe...

I don't know what I would have done either without all the VJ members as well. They have been a life saver! The one thing that is comforting is knowing that there are so many people out there who understand what we are all going through. Even though family and friends are amazing they have (or atleast on my end) a difficult time grasping all of this. I guess you just don't understand unless you go through it...

Well i'm nervous about him disclosing his juvenile antics cause he has no prier convictions as a adult -just that no live trace on that acpo thing we have, so him disclosing the tire letting incident hopefully wont hamper his approval...he was 17 but no court records to show it...so whatever, we'll see....i talk about it all the time and soooo worried....

im not sure really. normally i would think it doesnt matter but because of the postal strike, maybe a courier service would be quicker.

Finally just decided to update my timeline with consulate received at when they got our info electronically. What did you guys decide to do? Sounds like once London opens up the physical boxes that they've already got, they just generate the P3 letter that day or soonish after that.

I've been looking at some of the other forums and cannot believe how much trouble other people have doing stuff for their foreign fiances at the consulates...makes me sad that they have to go through so much #######. I understand the high fraud rates and all that, but I wish it wasn't so tough for them. So glad that my fiance (and yours) are from a lower-fraud country...

Naturalization

9/9: Mailed N-400 package off

9/11: Arrived at Dallas, TX

9/17: NOA

9/19: Check cashed

9/23: Received NOA

10/7: Text from USCIS on status update: Biometrics in the mail

10/9: Received Biometrics letter

10/29: Biometrics

10/31: In-line

2/16: Text from USCIS that Baltimore has scheduled an interview...finally!!

2/24: Interview letter received

3/24: Naturalization interview

I put the DHL date in my timeline. I've been second guessing that, but for now I will leave it alone. My logic is that other people analysizing dates will see it and know that the problem is with London.

I suppose I shouldnt get too worked up. I don't want the wedding to be until after new years anyways. My tax refunds will change drastically when I get married. I get to enjoy one last year with the benefits of being Head of Household. Still, the sooner the visa is in hand the better!!!

Our VisaJourney started July 2009 when I mailed the 129-F

Fiance here February 2010, married 10 days later

GC received in the mail 10-Jun-2010

Able to apply to remove conditions 12-Feb-2012

Nancy, my Dave is waiting for P3 because he does not want to risk it getting set aside or lost if the package is not handled yet.

Another random thought for everyone - Besides MARM waiting for her Desi that is a student in the UK, is it mostly USC women waiting for British gents on this thread right now? If so - Our poor guys, missing out on the awesomeness we have going on between us!! I have to remind myself that my SO doesnt have as much support. I am starting to learn I can't get mad at him when he stops wanting to talk about the process. :(

Hey JewelX :)

Does your Dave watch football? Craigy is playing a little game with some others on this forum...

Whenever I get the email notices that someone has posted something I send to him and then he logs on to our acct and puts in his responses. So he is getting a little awesomeness. But to your point, not as much as we get by sharing and assisting one another. :star: I feel so fortunate to have met all of you.

Also the female USC here - Nik logs in sometimes - but mostly for "business". I got a little obsessive, and at least I could talk on VJ about the visa when he got some visa fatigue. :)

Ok, its time to call of my VJ Helpers again! I am wondering, Patrick has only electronic copies of his pay slips and his W2 Tax forms, (he doesnt get hard copies) and he has turned them into PDF's for me (so i can print them).

Will the embassy accept these as evidence on our I-134? If not i will have to get him to print them off the website (not sure if they will be any different mind you). The ones i have, have all the info on.

Thanks
