Once your file is in the system electronically (which means it is also there physically, but you only have a way of knowing the electronic part), you can go ahead with the medical, and you can even prepare all of packet 3 response from the link on the embassy's website.

Marm,

He has his police cert. and has long ago downloaded and filled out the packet 3 forms. But just to clarify, we need to wait until my good friends at the DOS tell me that the embassy has SENT packet 3 before sending it all in along with the checklist, is that right?

We can't send it all in now just because we're in the system, can we? before they issue packet 3?

You can send in the packet 3 response packet once your case is electronically in the system. DOS confirms whether your case is in the system. You don't have to wait for the embassy to sent out packet 3 for you to send your response packet. Especially since the packet 3 letter from the embassy is a simple one-page letter with just a web-link to the instructions page on the embassy website as you have already seen and downloaded forms from. Go ahead and send in the response packet if you are in the electronic system :)

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

Hi Judi

Just to let you know and anyone else that had their petition delivered to London on the 8th Oct, they have received and logged mine and packet 3 is in the post! Yay, i am at work at the moment but really just feel like shouting this from the rooftops!! I am so, so happy. One step closer to being with my baby!

Give them a call and i really hope you are in the same position.

Good luck

Lesley

Thank you for the heads up; I was so excited when I read this that I called DOS and packet 3 was sent out today! Happy day!

well, Riggs has an appointment with his GP on Nov 11th to get his immunizations. He still needs to call Knightsbridge to make an appointment after 11/11. One form is left to be completed for packet 3, plus having the medical date on the checklist...

I also have recently learned that once he gets here, we have 90 days to come up with $1,010. I had no clue... I wanted to cry. I can cover the cost to get him here, and pay for his K-1 visa, but once he gets here, I can't afford a wedding. I've got a co-worker that will marry us for free, we'll probably hike out to a waterfall somewhere. But I thought a wedding was all I had to come up with, now with the news of the $1,010, I feel lost. I'm trying to sell stuff on Craigslist. Its all up to fate once he gets here to whether or not he can stay... I've been stressing ever sinse.

$545 is manageable when I've got 2 years to get it! I just wish I had looked more into AOS, 90 days isn't very long when your life savings (and life credit limit) is already spent with just getting him here.
